What a week I am having. Hubby on day off, so got an appointment with a GP. Hubby helped me dress and do my hair (I have threatened him with one of those dolls that you can style hair for Christmas). But decided against the bra.
Fortunately he came with me to the Dr. She asked to examine my shoulder (I should have thought of that!!!).
Have been signed off until the day following my Rheummy appointment next week. Most probably off MTX until then. Got my full blood results. ESR and CRP both up. Liver function tests failed dramatically! Blood test repeat on Monday. Have to live on painkillers until then. Welcome to my world of wacky tablets, codeine and paracetamol have supporting roles. Will put myself back on steroids (low dose) with my Ad-Cal.
But still not in tears so that is a bonus.
Hugs to all.

When I first diagnosed myself with RA it was based partly on the fact that I could no longer get my right arm up my back to undo my bra at night and had to enlist my husband's help. It had been going on for so long, I thought it was permanent, but the first time I saw the rheumatologist he said "Oh, you've got tendonitis in your shoulder. I can do something about that." And he did.
The habit has stuck though and I still get help. I couldn't imagine going bra-less!
If you have ever travelled by bus you know how they bounce, imagine the driver not having a bra... not good. Had back fasteners and sports. Will have to try front fastener. Will suggest it to hubby next week.
So sorry your hurting Jacqui. I do hope you get sorted soon.
If I need to cry I do it in the shower then no one knows! It's such a good relief to shed self indulgent tears! Of course tears can't always be held back and at those times I just let them flow.
I was going to write a post about bra's this week but I'm in a bit of a bad way.....long story but I'm hoping to start gold injections soon but like a lot of the drugs we get they can take up to six months to work, I need something today..... I'm all bent and mis sharpen but my pain relief is starting to take the knife out of the pain.....had to roll myself out of the bed this morning. Up at 7.30 for a wee and as I was getting back into the bed I though that I should have taken my meds and they would be starting to work by the time I was getting up but I just re rolled myself back into the bed and snuggled up beside my Lhasa Apso Barney.
I digress, bra's, the bane f any woman who has RD. Twice a day the agonising torture of getting the bloody thing on and then repeating the procedure while trying to get the effin thing off......men just have no idea.....
I have said before I'm a woman who was generously endowed.....which makes any interaction with said instruments of torture even worse, believe me I know. Anyhow while doing a bit of drousing in Sainsbury's one day recently I came across a wonderful item, for me anyhow......it is a 'step into bra'. That's right I can step into it. Now it's not the sort of thing you would ware to a restaurant or your D-I-L's but you would get away with it under a coat of jumper. I bought an X-Large that was a bit too loose so then got the medium and its grand.
They come in skin tone and white. They are not what I'd call supportive but the do when no one is looking, if you know what I mean? Just hold them like you would a pair of knicks and pull them up. I think they are meant to put over your head but my way is infinitely better......well I think so anyhow. They are only a couple of pound so give them a go and let me know how you get on. Jacgui, I can feel your pain, literally!!!!
I too discovered the bras you mention a couple of years ago when I had my carpal tunnel op and couldn't use my right hand for ages. They are really comfy aren't they? I've discovered several on Amazon that are pretty colours now, and have found the best one so far is called The Delight Bra. It's a bit more expensive but washes well and doesn't ride up like some of the cheaper ones. Thought I'd recommend it in case you fancy a change from plain colours. I 'step into' mine too...far easier
I'm going to have a look there for sure, thanks. X
Hi Jacqi - I actually use tank tops instead of bras. That way I don't show through my top, and I don't surprise the doc during an exam - ha ha. But the tops are very comfortable and easy to get on...
