Hi everyone hope you are all as well as can be.
I had my pip consultation last Thursday. Does anyone know if I get the award, will it be back dated ? and if so when will it be back dated to?
Thanks xx

HI heathersmum,
PIP is normally backdated to the date your submitted your application. If you need any further information about PIP, please do have a look at our publication here: nras.org.uk/publications/ho...
I do hope you are successful in your application and please do contact the NRAS Helpline if you have any queries or concerns 0800 298 7650 or helpline@nras.org.uk (9.30am to 4.30pm).
Kind regards
Emma - NRAS
Hiya Jane. When you're awarded PIP it applies from your first contact with the DWP, usually the date you requested the application form. So if if was a good few months like me (8 months) you'll have a nice little sum to look forward to.
Hope you're good today. P x
Thanks Nomoreheels,
I just wondered,as I am not too good at the moment and a small little windfall would be very helpful as I'm not working.
Hope you're well.
Jane xx
No probs. It will certainly be helpful then as you're not working. Hope the result isn't long in coming & fingers crossed it's what you need. Is the SSZ not helping? I meant to say once before were MTX injections not suggested?
Still battling on with really swollen ankles & top of foot now but elevating them when sitting. x
Hi Nomoreheels,
No I am on only pain killers at the moment. I go to see the Rheumatologist on Thursday. He is going to put me on Ssz then I'm told.
Hope you are well. Currently I am sitting with my feet in ice cold water as they have swollen up like balloons.
Ttfn. Xx
Oh, didn't realise you'd not started it yet. I think you said you were going on it & thought you'd go straight from MTX to that. Just checked your last post, I guess your nurse wanted your Rheumy to take the lead. You won't be doing too well then, feel for you only being on pain killers. I have a vision of you with your podgy feet in water. I've been sitting in the garden & just come in to the cool of the house, lovely. My ankles are similar to your feet but top of my feet have settled somewhat, sitting with them up now.
Good luck for Thursday Jane & I hope your Rheumy recognises that you're not doing well & starts you on the SSZ (or whatever he decides is best for you). Update us won't you?
Ttfn (not heard that for yonks!) x
Yes your right about the Rheumatologist. The nurse wants him to take the lead. I am assured that he will give me a script to get my new medication when he sees me. I am actually looking forward to starting the new medication. Is that sad?
Xx
It's defo back dated as I was very happy with the amount I'm being paid tomorrow. And no, you are not sad in looking forward to starting new meds. I'm waiting to collect my 25mg MTX injection so I can up it from 20mg and only 1 week left before I'm on the full amount of SSZ to make the triple. As NMH said, it's the hoping the correct combo is around the corner that gives us hope. Fingers crossed for you PIP. Please let us know. 🙏
