It will be back dated from the date you reapplied. As to how long it depends on the area you live but generally it’s 8 weeks max. I reapplied at the end of December and haven’t heard a word from them. I have had no face to face or anything yet. I am getting to the point I will have to phone them to find out what is going on.

Good luck and hope you hear soon.

On your papers it says contact us if you haven't heard believe 8 weeks. Then they might say they're waiting on further information , so don't worry unnecessarily.

Admittedly got mine within 2.5 weeks . I was told my forms were filled out thoroughly. Was asked random questions but was in asesment room little over 1hour 30 mins. They ask some questions twice in a roundabout way. Was examined. Remember the guy who took mine last year said if you get refused you must appeal. Possibly they say this to make you relaxed as you leave, as we all leave wondering whether we done well answering questions.

Best wishes

Pamela xx

When you say you had your letter on 28th December was that what it was dated or when you actually received it? I ask because my PIP review form was dated 21st December but I didn't receive it until 3rd January, in my case I just asked for an extension & was given a fortnight, yours is different. It could make a difference as to how long is it acceptable to wait to hear if you've been awarded it again & how much whether you call the DWP to chase it up. Either way if you're awarded it again it will be backdated but I appreciate your position, it's whilst it's suspended you're not receiving anything.

Right, gathered more info. At the mo it's taking 6-8 weeks (but nearer 8) after assessment in most areas to hear for 'uncomplicated' cases. So, as you received notification that the decision maker had all the info needed to determine your award on 28th Dec (ie they'd received the report from the agent Atos/Capita &, if they were required, any other info from medical professionals) I would say if you've not heard anything by next week I think it's acceptable to contact the DWP to chase it up or at least request an update & estimated date by which you'll receive notification. Be assured though they'll contact you as soon as they've made a decision.

You were very fortunate to have your assessment only 4 days after requesting you were reassessed, I think that could be a record!

Take heart in that it's been the same for most, you're not being singled out & your award will be backdated.

Hi I had my assessment got the letter same as you then heard nothing. I rang and told I'd been rejected as I did not accumulate enough points to award pip. I have since reapplied and waiting for another assessment don't know how this works as I can barely walk or use my hands good luck with your claim
