Memory and what is your worst/funny experience...

My memory is getting very poor these days thanks to the fibro and drugs i take. Well what is your worst or funniest experience of memory loss. Mine was last Saturday when we was at a rugby for heroes event in L/spa. I stood with hubby talking to a lady and hubby said you know who this is don't you,and i said no i can't remember her though her face was familiar. Well she was the Poppy organiser for our area. Hubby said she was in our house for over a hour talking with you. Then i remembered and i felt so embarresed i can tell you. She was lovely about it, but i felt really bad about it.

Now over to you all to find your funniest or worst moments, hope we can all have a good laugh....xxxx

I forever do that thing of going upstairs and when getting there not recalling why, coming down, remembering, going back up and stairing stupidly again! The worst thing for me at present is goinga bit blank during conversations. However I will admit I play on this a bit with my grown children and husband as they usually feel great compassion for me, take me by the hand, say 'it doesn't matter mum' and make me a nice cup of tea. Lovely!

I too do both going into another room and forgetting why, I have no stairs. :-)

I also forget things, names etc in the middle of a conversation. I blame it on steroids, my rheumy doctors tell me I will be fine once I reduce them. Hopefully that will be soon as it is very embarrassing when you can't remember the name of the person you are speaking to. Sue

I am a Samaritan and my partner and I were at a meal sat next to my best friend and I was introducing everyone to James my guy and when it came to my best friend I just could not remember her name, so I said to her this is James. her name did not come to back to me until about a week later and when I saw her I explained I just could not remember it. I was very embarrassed about the whole thing. I have noticed my memory loss is happening a lot! my friend said not to worry.

Thank you sylvi for the recommendations. I tell people that I have temporary Brain Fog, please forgive me, I was out a couple of weeks ago for lunch with my friends from where I use to work, one of the girls was my ex area manager and in her 30's, she just laughed and said that's OK I'm in my 30's and I have brain fog, having to write everything down or she forgets. :-)

I do feel better knowing I am not alone, I did start to worry that I was starting with some form of dementia. Until last August I was working as a manager of a retirement development and some of my residents have dementia and we had regular training on how to deal with the various difficult situations. I hope I do get back to normal once I am no longer taking the steroid medication, whatever, normal is!!! Sue

I spent ten minutes this morning looking for the non-disposable coffee filter that was already in the machine-I even asked my dog, Sammy, what I did with it. I think it was because I had to get up earlier than usual for an Endodontics appointment and was thinking about also making my son an appointment while I was there ...

Don't worry about it, Sweetie! Stress makes it worse!
