13th Jan attended local Hospital for biopsy, 29th Jan received a telephone call from the consultants secretary, "the sample taken was of poor quality" and needs to be repeated. I have
discovered that the lady Registrar that carried out the procedure was not able to penetrate the pelvis due to "tough" bone and her slight stature. The pain experienced was bad, I was apprehensive before the procedure but need to have it done again. My confidence in the N.H.S. is rapidly evaporating, needless to say she will not be doing it.

Sorry it went wrong . I had my first one 35years ago from my breast bone so know the pain you are talking about . You never get used to it ask if you can use headphones with music or audio book and ask for local pain
Any suggestions for song recordings, "killing me softly" comes to mind.
You poor thing Scorpius. As I said last time you posted I had a lumbar puncture experience a month ago today I wouldn't want repeated - haven't been well since. The results were misread by my GP and it turns out that the cerebral spinal fluid was contaminated by the trauma. I'm wondering if all the results were compromised - although there's no suggestion of this from the neuro so I guess they got enough that wasn't contaminated. I don't blame the NHS or the doctor for my problems at all as I know that lumbar punctures can be very tricky and I have a curved spine with arthritis in the area she had to tap from. So I really feel for you as it's sounds like your situation is more of a mess than mine re medical incompetence. Tx
Thanks for your reply, warning bells should have rung when he said what needs doing, I replied
s*** that sounds painful and he replied it all depends on who does it, during my last appointment he has assured me that when I have the next one he personally will undertake the process.
When I eventually found out the truth with the help from PALS and a senior nurse, I requested that they put in writing the reason for the "poor quality sample" the verbal reply from all parties was they don't have facilities to do this Email or otherwise. First rule of N.H.S. never commit yourself.
