Hi, my name is Bijan and I am currently waiting for a colonoscopy procedure.
I have false teeth should I take them off for the colonoscopy?

I wouldn't think that's necessary. You usually have a very mild sedative given intravenously, or sometimes nothing at all. I'm sure you won't need to.
That's not the end they're interested in! 😀😀😀good luck. I've had a few because I have colitis and they are fine. I've had some done without sedation because I wanted to get up and out of the hospital straight away ( with the sedation you have to wait around) but if you're not in a hurry probably just do the sedation. They talk you through everything. It's the cleanse the day before that is tedious. All the best

Yes, for sure. The nurse or whoever you see first will ask if you have any jewellery on or false teeth and they all should be removed and if you have a wedding ring that doesn't come off then they will mask that with a plaster. Good luck
Hi try not worry, the medical staff will talk you through the procedure. They will advises you re your false teeth. Its a fairly straightforward procedure, I had it,just a bit sleepy from the drugs. Warmest Craig

Hello Bijan!
We love meeting new members. Tell us about your arthritis.
Hi Seenie thank you for your concern. I have had RA for ma ny years now over 15 years.Thank God I've had excelent lady doctors3 to be precise who have helped me with my treatment. No more corton, acid fullic , metotrexate ( excuse my spelling mistakes). Do ask me any questions you are willing to. Bijan
You are so fortunate to have had excellent doctors for so long, even if you've been suffering RA for that length of time too. Hope everything goes well with the colonoscopy: having a date with a garden hose is a small price to pay for the misery it can prevent.
