Hello

TACROLIMUS

Is used in transplants, while Leflunomide is an immuno suppressant

Are you a transplant patient with RA

Bob, Tacrolimus is also an immunosuppressant, so that is probably the reason why Sarajen has been prescribed it. And yes, one of the side effects is gut disturbances, so that would probably account for your present tummy troubles. Clemmie

Hello Barrister

Yes I realize that.

All the best

Strangely my sister has just been diagnosed with another of the auto immune family of diseases, and this drug is on her list too. Never heard of it before, but it is an immune suppressant. Anyway, do tell your hospital team about the side effects and especially if they continue. But fingers crossed that your gut will calm down fairly quickly once it gets used to the drug. Polly

Thank you all for your kind replies. Im not a transplant patient thank goodness. It's been given to me as my R.A is rather active since I stopped the methotrexate in June due to awful side effects. Im crossing all fingers and toes that my tummy troubles will settle down. x
