3 months ago, My Xray showed some patchy thing, which Dr assumed to be Tubercluosis, CT scan was also one, from both they were not sure abt TB, since image was not typical TB type. But I was started on TB course. Even after 2 months of medication there is no improvement in Xray and now with revised CT scan, Dr doubt it to be organizing Pneumonia/ fungal infection and suggested me to do bronchoscopy / biopsy to confirm, what it is. What should I do. Special thing is there is no symptom of any kind and I am and was perfectly fit since this has been identified.

Hello

You are on an site that assists Arthritis sufferers,

If you have TB that is a specialist condition, so you will need to talk to someone who knows about that condition.

If you have had tests associated with complaint, follow their suggestions. I understand TB can be antibiotic resistant.

All the best

GOOD LUCK

BOB

There is another question on the site at the moment re RA and TB which may be helpful for you to look at. There are a few of us on here that have had lung problems associated with RA too. If you search under topic you should find other posts:-}

Hope this helps,

hi i have vasculitis, an auto immunue disease, similar to and also is relatated and causes RA, i had what the doctor thought was a lung infection, i had 3 lots of anti biotics which we thought had cleared it up, as i was getting better, but i had to have a bronchoscopy and the results came back as pneumonia. good luck and i hope the bronchoscopy is ok for you, and they finallly get you sorted out correctly.

There are lots of conditions that show up on X-rays, so have the tests and they will treat you. I hope they go well and let us know how u get on xx

I had a chest xray which showed "Patchy findings suggestive of pneumonia" which was treated with antibiotics. A repeat chest xray 2 weeks later showed that the antibiotics had cleared the chest. I had pain on breathing but no cold or cough with this. It was this chest infection which triggered my RA.

I hope you find some answers.

you can get pulmonary fibrosis (which looks like a snowstorm in your lungs on xray) along with inflammatory arthritis. I'm not sure what the link is with RA or inflammatory arthritis generally. In ankylosing spondylitis I think its more usually apical fibrosis (at the top of the lung) and due to problems deep breathing from limited rib expansion.

Glad you are having the biopsy though - its going to be the only way they will really prove what it is, and whether it needs treating or not.

Not what you're looking for?
