Hello lovely people, just an update on my previous post ref diagnosis of pleurisy & having to cancel third primary covid vaccine.
On Monday despite being on antibiotics for 4 days there has been no improvement in the pain in my back near my ribs.
Got hold of drs who said I'd be on the emergency list for a call back, 2 minutes later they rang to say can I get to the surgery for 3pm to see Amjam, I said he's the pharmacist, the reply yes he's the Head pharmacist, thought ok see what he says.
Tbh he was really thorough, he mentioned he'd had a discussion with the Dr prior with talk I may need to be admitted (hospital I guess) anyway he said my chest was clear aswell & my sats were fine he took my temperature which was also fine & examined my stomach, he asked if there was any history of lung problems, I said my grampy had TB , when? During the war π€£ but because of it I'm immune to it, also my other grampy died of lung cancer.
He asked for a water sample & said there were some leukocytes present which could be a sign of infection & said he'd send it the the lab. He said normally they'd arrange a scan but would speak to the Dr & ring me later.
Didn't hear a thing so later the next day rang surgery, receptionist said a telephone consultation is booked for Thursday (today) & a chest xray form is ready for me to collect. Lucky I phoned then π€£
Dr just rang to just see how I am! How lovely is that, he's also going to prescribe some different anti sickness tablets to see if they'll help with the morphine as it's making me feel so ill & sick that I haven't taken it for days.
Got a phonecall from covid Centre & have my third dose at 1pm today π & chest xray at 2.30. The Dr said he would ring me in a weeks time with the xray results (normally we have to phone for them) & to see how I am. Tbf honestly can't fault the service I'm having & I get to get slightly dressed up & put on some perfume to go out π€£
Thank you to everyone who commented on my previous post π x

Thank you β€ jab all done, I created havoc as usual π€£ because it was only arranged yesterday the booking in part had my details but the nurse who did the jab wasn't able to complete my vaccination details to update the system, they're going to have to do it manually to ensure its registered as a third primary dose.
& I couldn't be normal, asked if it could given in my thigh same as last time, had to wait for the only person qualified to do it ππ€£
Off to get chest xray next, jeez had my trousers down at the vaccination centre (behind a curtain of course) & now to get my upper half out ππ€£π x
Well, you can't fault the service. How nice of your GP to ring you. It also reminds people that pharmacists are qualified to do more than put your prescription together. I hope the X-ray shows the clear reason for your pain, just hope it's not serious enough for you to need admitting. I wonder if he means for intravenous antibiotics? Just guessing obvs as he doesn't know & your GP won't without imaging, or if your urine test result is relative. Let us know once you're clearer what's going on? Till then hopefully the new antiemetic will help you cope with the morphine & it brings you a reduction in pain. It is odd how we respond to one better than another, Iβm the same. x
Thank you, I'm guessing that there was talk of admitting me based on the original pleurisy diagnosis but as my chest was now clear along with other vital areas I was saved from that π
I always go to the pharmacist with any problems she was the one who said to phone gp. I always think vets are so good being able to diagnose problems for animals who can't speak & wonder at times if we'd get more luck seeing a vet ππ€£
Thank you & yes, wasn't expecting the care I've been receiving, I know people knock the Health service particularly gp surgeries & most people I know who use my practice have nothing but bad comments to make but on the whole they've been fine with me (few minor hiccups but nothing much) x
