Should I or should I not

My doctor prescribed methotrexate for me but I was told to wait until my test for tb came back. I got a email and it said my tb test is negative but in the mean time I’m in a full blown flare. Does anyone know if it’s ok to start my first dose? I’ve sent a note to the dr but it takes a cpl days to hear back and I’m miserable. HELP!!!

Awh crap ! That’s sucks - take the methotrexate- that’s what it is there for! Check with hospital in morning but if your tb is clear - and they have given you prescription - I don’t think u have to wait...,

It’s going to take a couple of months to get up to speed so may be worth asking for something on top that will help for now- most of us got a general steroid injection to tide us over and some good NSAID such as naproxen.

When I started MTX I don't think there was a joint in my body that wasn't inflamed. As Phoo says, it's what it's there for....

As others here have said, it's what it's there for. However, MTX doesn't work quickly - up to 12 weeks - and I hope you have been given folic acid to take as it helps fend off some nasty side effects. Drink loads of water and then some more and you'll be fine hopefully. Asking for pain meds and a steroid shot to tide you over would be a good move too. Wishing you better
