Hello, im in my 2months quit in cigarette. I experience a lot of nicotine withdrawals on my 2nd week of stopping smoking like shortness of breath, gerd or acid reflux, dizziness, muscle aches, muscle twitches and many more. For now most of them are gone. Whats left form me now is i go to the bathroom to urinate a lot. Idk if this is because i drink a lot of water lately compare before that i can end the day with just 3 glasses of water. This is bothering me so much right now plus the anxiety that im feeling right now. But the wat o forgot to mention that i also got UTI on my first 2 weeks. Please leave a comment. Thanks

Hello. Well done for quitting!

I have to be honest, increased urination is not a side effect of quitting that I have ever heard of. I looked it up for you (so you don't have to, Googling any symptom is always a nightmare) and I can find nothing. Indeed, from what I have read, smoking causes more frequent urination, not the other way around.

If you are drinking a lot more water, this is will definitely cause you to need to empty your bladder more often. It's also possible that you are worrying to the point that this too, is having an effect. To prevent your anxiety becoming over-whelming, why don't you give your GP a call, if nothing else to put your mind at rest.

Im on my 2nd month of no cigarette, i am getting worried of my frequent urination :(

I dont drink lots of water before, i only start drinking more water when i started quitting smoking, i dont know if im drinking too much im confuse. I will try not to drink too much water tomorrow and observe what will happen.

Please pray for me.

Good idea. Please try not to worry. If you are drinking more than before, you will urinate more.

See how you get on tomorrow. Do keep in touch on here. 🙂

Incresed urination will be caused by increased water intake but its nothing to worry about as its just flushing through your body it doesn't damage your kidneys if anything it helps them. It's a good thing to drink approximately 8 pints of water per day!!

Congratulations on stopping smoking by the way!!!!
