Hello all you quitters out there :-). I am at the end of my three months quit and am trying to loose the NRT. I was addicted to the lozenges last time I quit. This round I gave up the 2mg lozenge. It was tough, but I think I have now been successful (its been 5 days). When I took off my 7mg patch it was just like the first days of quitting. Awful! Does anyone have any tips or suggestions on how to wean off of the patches? I appreciate any input. Thank you!

Hello Ferris5, it has been almost eleven months for me but I quit with champix. But a couple of days after I finished the champix I had full blown nicotine withdrawal. All I can say is I walked a lot, sometime three or four times a day. Drank lots of water. Substituted smokes with scotch mints or gum and kept busy. You can also change up your daily routine. It is no easy task but with determination you can do it. Good luck and stay safe.

Thank you reader2019. Withdrawal from the lozenges is finally settling down. But I guess I will have to start the process again once I remove my patch. Oh Lord lol. I will be laid off by the time I remove my patch so at least that will give me more time to be active. Maybe lose a bit of the quit smoking weight :-). Thanks again for you input. I wasn't really sure what was going on, it felt like nico demon withdrawal and it is. I will be prepared for my next run (sure).

I'm currently on day 5 of quitting quickmist cold turkey. I think most of it is just trying to scramble through the early days of quitting by any means possible. I'm still not in the clear but I know every day I put between me and my last nicotine hit the easier it gets. Once you've clawed your way through the first few days you won't want to have done that for nothing so I think the more days you stack up the less likely you are to go back just because the amount of effort it takes to abstain in the early days.

I’m also on quit mist and would like to stop using it. Any tips?

Honestly, it really depends on how dependent you are on it. I was using it pretty recklessly, to the point where I wasn't sure how many spray's I was consuming in an hour or day. I never got to a point where I had to have it with me if I was going to run errands or go shopping and never woke up in the middle of the night needing a spray to get back to bed. However, I am home a lot so when I'm home, I'm pretty much constantly using it.

My main tip would be to have a large water bottle handy and get yourself some snacks because the first few days are going to be tough, I found snacking and drinking water held me over for the first 72 hours haha. I'm now on day 10.. I still get cravings for it and think about it but I know I just have to keep stacking up days without it at this point until using it has become but a distant memory!
