Will I ever be able to enjoy life?

If I quit vaping, will I ever be able to continue to enjoy life without it?? I am quitting vaping because it is worsening my anxiety disorders, but I am very worried that I won’t be able to live life normally and enjoy it once I quit.. I have been vaping for two years only, even less, so cravings shouldn’t last for too long right? I have seen stuff on google saying that cravings can last for one year and it’s horrifying me.. I really want to be able to enjoy life without vaping or smoking.. I want to go back to exercising like what I used to do before I started vaping.

Hello.

Of course you will be able to enjoy life without vaping. Anything you can do while vaping, you can do, just as well, if not better, without vaping. The cravings do not last a year! As with smoking, the less you do it, the fewer cravings you have. There may well be the initial sense of loss, but after a year (and a lot less time), you won't even think about it.

If you do not know where to start, why not begin with cutting down on the strength? I found this pretty easy. So, if you are using 6mg, then cut it down to 3mg. You can also take smaller steps by mixing 0mg in with whatever you are using. Try it. It works

Do not be scared to try. Often, the fear of trying is worse than the thing you are trying to do.

If you want to go back to exercise, then do it. Do it today. You don't have to go out and run a marathon! Youtube has hundreds of short workout routines.

Same with your vape. The only thing stopping you, is you. Cut down today (by cutting the strength of your liquid).

You will be able to live life normally. In fact, it will be better because all the anxiety vaping is causing, will be gone.

Give it a go.

Thank you so much for your reply, I started cold turkey, today is my second day vape-free. However, my blood pressure went low it’s 100/61, I am feeling sooo dizzy! It’s so scary. I bought nicotine gum.. 2mg.. I hope it will satisfy my cravings because I really want to protect my lungs from the harmful chemicals of vape. Is it normal to feel very dizzy when you’re quitting smoking? I am so scared, the feeling is scary, I am only 17

OK. You need to keep an eye on your blood pressure. If you are concerned that it is low, please get checked.

The dizziness will be about the blood pressure not the absence of vaping.

I agree with everything mushen says. I gradually cut down the nicotine content in my vape until I was down to zero and then I just drifted away from it. I have been off it for nearly four years now and I don’t miss it.

Take it as slowly as you want and just go down a nicotine level when you’re comfortable with the current level. If you go down very gradually you don’t miss it. That’s my experience anyway, other people have done it differently. It’s worth a go.

The only thing upsetting me about this is not being able to enjoy the things I do daily anymore.. and I’m worried I won’t be able to enjoy it forever, it’s just doing certain activities I always did before feel different and horrible without vaping. The fact that it feels different is upsetting me so much I can’t stop crying. I loved drawing, playing games, I loved story-writing more than both of these things, but ever since I stopped, I haven’t been able to enjoy these things anymore, it’s ripping me apart.

I know exactly what you mean - I was the same with cigarettes. I didn't think it would be possible to enjoy myself without them in certain situations (going to the pub, driving, doing the garden, listening to music...and a few more). It's hard at first but after a while you get used to it and doing those things without smoking becomes normal.

One thing I did which helped when I stopped vaping was I cut things out gradually. I started off by not vaping during my lunch hour, then not doing it at all while at work, then when I was used to that I stopped vaping while driving, then stopped having one when I got home from work. Combined with reducing the nicotine I found this worked well. Maybe choose an activity and decide you're not going to vape while you're doing it? Once you get used to that then stop vaping while you're doing a different activity...and so on, until they all start to join together. Just a suggestion, hope it helps.

Hi, my cravings lasted exactly 30 days and never returned. I'm not saying that would be the case with everyone but it definitely was with me.
