Hello! I am on day 10 not smoking (wooo) and I know I will never smoke again. However, over the past week I have had the worst flu of my life and have been in bed most of the weekend. I am starting to feel better today but I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this after quitting? I don’t know how much of it is down to actual flu and how much of it is withdrawing from nicotine! (I am coughing, runny nose, sneezing, muscle aches, very exhausted ect ect)
I am 24 and quit cold turkey after smoking about 15 a day for 8 years.
Thank you!

Hi well done you that’s brilliant , I think you’ve got seasonal flu but I know you can get a cough after you give up. Just keep going and continue to be “ smoke free”. I gave up 13 weeks ago after 50 yrs and I have never felt so well. So keep going the flu will pass. You will have rough days when you want to smoke but they do pass.
Thank you very much your your response and congratulations!! I appreciate your advice. I stupidly had one last night but I didn’t enjoy it and hopefully it won’t totally undo the last 10 days!
That sounds like the flu I experienced flu like but nothing like that, don’t sell your self short, if you know your gonna smoke, than your not ready, your body recasts to quitting yes, and your body will ach, but you’ll over come it, I happy your trying a the most, you’ll be okay just think positive, as far as your flu you should hopefully be ending it soon, let us all know how your doing best of luck..
