Hi Lauren...Congratulations on the best decision of your life....And after a couple of weeks smoke free you will agree that we lived our lives in a false sense where we thought that a cigarette is a stress reliever....

Nicotine is a very strong drug and rewires our brains as to except that it is the only way we can relieve stress...and actually it is the other way around....after 4 years smoke free I can really say that there is no truth in that believe...

No more stress is no more worries where the next pack of cigarettes will be coming from...or late night to find you are out of cigs

Stress is when you can't breathe when climbing steps

Stress is not tasting what you eat...stress is looking at X rays of your lungs and seeing the black spots...

So you will truly live a much more stress free life smoke free..Guaranteed...!...Strongs

Well done on making the decision to quit. First of all smoking does not remove stress it creates stress. I stopped over 3 years ago so know how true this is. Drink lots of water, keep occupied and avoid triggers. The first week is hard but with the right frame of mind it’s doable. Good luck

Hi Lauren and AliKaz,

Just wondering how you’re both doing with the quit.

I’m on Champix. Today is my day 13. I went from 25 a day, to 10, to now 2 a day, for the last 4 days. I only managed 1 day without any at all, at day 9.

I almost know for sure that I can stop the 2, but I’m finding it a little difficult, not so much because of the addiction, but because for the last 25 years, smoking has been my escape from the craziness around me. It’s my friend, my solace. It’s also a lot of bad things, I get that. Hence I’m trying to quit. But I don’t know, I’m just a little emotional about it.

I hope you’re both doing well. Hearing how well others are going provide me with so much motivation. It’s almost like a group effort.

Anyway, best of luck!
