Welcome Sukkisue - congratulations on making the best decision of your life to stop smoking.

I would suggest reading up as much as possible here and elsewhere and get in the mindset to stop. Pick a date and stick to it, stay close to us here and we will help you, we all started off in Day 1. I stopped cold turkey almost 4 years ago and never looked back!

Below pinned post is worth a read if not already done so:

Sukkisue...welcome ...... you have received the best advice from Roisin...

If someone told me on my first day of my quit that it is only mind over matter and a strong will I wouldn't believe it ....Because to quit is not easy but looking back it is possible and actually you just need to want to quit...!

If you really want to quit you can...The Physical cravings is easier to overcome than the physiological pressure....You will truly morn the lost of a friend (Your cigarette buddy) long after the cravings has gone...

Only advice is...Do it, embrace it and enjoy the rollercoaster ride...(and take some additional vitamins and herbal supplements)

Good luck ...wishing you all the strength .....!

I attended the Alan Carr seminars, didn’t help me quit, but one thing that stayed with me is that say when you are stressed, you go offfor a cigarette and feel better. It taught me that it was not the cigarette that made me feel better but the fact that I had taken myself away from the stressful situation. Unfortunately, as a smoker we thank the cigarette for making us feel better and so the journey continues
