Ann...Sorry for belated welcome....No, do not push, if you feel you need to smoke within the first 14 days do so....(and feeling guilty is fine)
Keep your hands and mind busy and soon you will forget to smoke ... your reduction is remarkable and you are well on the road to success...
Glad there is no side effects (I was also one of the lucky ones except for the normal insomnia and bit of nausea)
Set yourself a total quit date on day 12 to 14 and work towards it from now on...If you feel ready before that, then stop......You will find that smoking whilst using Champix is not that satisfying anymore...
Enjoy the rollercoaster ride of ups and downs...Strongs !!
Now on day 2 of Champix. Thank you for you words of encouragement . Well last night was my FIRST night and half woke at one point with like an electric shock & buzzing in my head followed by very vivid dreams. Then waking every couple of hours. Did you experience this & does it pass after a time?
Stick with it. I have been off cigs now for one year. Had bad nausea but doc reduced dose and that sorted me out. I had weird dreams but I enjoyed them lol, and if you have insomnia ask doc to give you some sleeping pills, they gave them to me and again that made my journey easier. I just reminded myself why i wanted to stop and the short price to pay to get there was worth it. Good luck x
When I go to bed I sleep good for about four hours then I wake up every couple of hours but I usually roll over and go back to sleep. In the morning I still feel like I had a good sleep. I just tell myself that this won't last forever, eight more weeks. I can deal with it to quit smoking. Good luck
Ann...I had lots of sleepless nights, but no Nasty dreams and head buzzing....I used that sleepless hours to find encouragement and learning what is happening to my body and mind....One of the things that will stick with me is the fact that if you know your enemy you can fight it...The old saying: Know thy enemy !!
You can really investigate ....Dopamine and Serotonin (The happy chemical) in your brain and how to supplement to make your journey bearable...
