Writing from Calgary, Alberta - land of the frozen haha. Sure glad I don't have to go outside to smoke. I quit 2 months and 1 week ago. I tried cutting my patches down to the 7 mg and found this was not working at all. I thought the NRT was to be 6 weeks, 2 weeks and 2 weeks. I ended up having to go back to step 2. Has anyone else struggled with this?

Doing my best
Hi Fenrir5, I am wondering how to get off the patch as well. I couldn't use the highest patch or even the second highest (they made me shake) so I started on the lowest one and it was Horrible -... I am on week five I think now and have decided the only thing to do is wean myself off the patch. So I am trying to put it on later in the morning each week until I can stop. The problem for us, is that we have stopped smoking but are still using nicotine. So we are going through withdrawl in stages. It's frustrating and upsetting to do. But I had less trouble today with my later start to the patch then yesterday etc....Im not saying this to discourage, although when I realized I would have to experience this to get off the patch I was upset. Quitting smoking is just grosse. I think you will know when you are ready to go down to a lower patch. And put up with the withdrawl feeling So keep at it!
Welcome Fenrir5 . congratulations on 9 weeks smoke free! Well done! KatNL gave you excellent advice. Keep at it!
