How is everyone I quit smoking 3 weeks ago I am using nicotine patches. I have had a lot of side effects of quitting but my throat feels like I'm being choked it's not sore just when I swallow It feels like its closed
Is this normal, does anyone know how long this lasts or if there is anything I can do at home to help this ? :)

Welcome Shaz2708 and congratulations on 3 weeks smoke free, that is great! 👏 (can you confirm your stop date as 09 January for your accurate milestone badges?)
The sore throat and cold like symptoms are perfectly normal as your lungs is clearing and repairing from the thousands of poisonous chemicals from cigarettes. A tablespoon of raw honey (jar honey will be fine too) every morning and night will help with this and cilia (hairs in the throat to re-grow). Also some lemon sliced in water, drink loads and loads of water, it is the best medicine for our bodies 🌊 Eat plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables and homemade soup - chicken and vegetable is great and so easy to make your own version 🍲😋

Hi Shaz. It doesn’t hurt to talk to a pharmacist about your throat and mention any medication you’re on including the patch. It’s amazing what pharmacists know about side effects. That might give you a degree of comfort. Good luck.
I had to use Fluticasone to open sinuses and Mucinex to thin the mucus. Fluticasone is a steroid use in the morning only it needs time to flush with daily drinking.
