And... 14 days into my Champix course :). Days 1-3 were relatively easy, I worked from home on my first day so had a chance to rest (not deal with people basically) Ventured into work on my 4th day after hacving bite to eat and my morning dose of Champix. About an hour later, while I was on the train felt really faint, nauseous and started sweating. Had to get off and get some fresh air. That really scared me, I have never felt like that before. Champix is a strong drug! So from the next day on I decided to skip my morning pill and only take the evening one.
Since doing that I have had so much more energy during the days but am finding it harder to get to sleep. I was feeling a bit lifeless. Not quite depressed but just "without any feeling" the week before my quit and the first week of Champix and am glad to say that has lifted since I dropped my dose. I wonder if the dose should be altered for size? (I am 5ft 1 and pretty tiny)
However, I do feel the cravings more than in the first few days. Hard to say if it is because of Champix or just my withdrawal.
In any case, I am just as determined not to smoke as day 1.

Congratulations cassie87 on your big milestone of 1 week, well done!
With regards the dosage, from others here that used champix (cold turkey was my method), use it best to suit you. You are now in the thick of the mental battle as your body and mind rewires, repairs and recovers which will bring on strong and frequent cravings but for each day that passes the easier these will become to deal with.
Stay close to us especially if having severe cravings, deep breathing exercises, inhale for 5 seconds, exhale for 5 seconds and repeat five times or longer if needed.
You are doing great
Hey. A BIG Congrats Cassie on 7 days 1 hour, that's great, & pleased to hear your energy levels are getting back up. I hope your still running & doing your exercises ??? Also, I'm pleased those Feelings of lowness or depression have eased somewhat for you, that's great. You just got to keep fighting those cravings but like you say your just as determined not to smoke as day 1. Well done.
I'm now 22 days on Champix & 10 days 18 hours (& pleased to say) Smoke Free as well. I to am still having trouble sleeping but think It's partly to do with Champix, the hot weather & the main factor No Nicotine or the withdrawal of it. I was going to reduce my dose as well but now feel I'm coping a lot better with it now so will stay the same, 2 tabs a day. It may be your size "Good point". I'm 6 feet & around 14 1/2 stone so maybe my body handles the dose better. My main goal is to get off Champix & Nico as soon as possible, It's definitely a drug that my body does not like, but it's definitely helping in my task of quitting the Cigs. I am defo not my old self but hoping I'll get my mojo back when Nico & Champix are all out of my system. Good work & Good luck Cassie.
Thanks Harmonicaman you must be what 12 days in now so well done! So glad to hear you are coping better with the Champix You are more than a quarter of the way through the treatment so the worst must be over now. It's crazy how we willingly poison our bodies everyday.Hot weather definitely has everyone talking about sleepless nights at work! So know you are not alone in that.
I've gone a bit mental this week on exercise, been running 4 times, and also started doing HIIT. Substituting one addiction for another! ;p
Been climbing up walls the last 2 days, strong urges and been quite anxious. Feeling a bit nervous as I am out for drinks with some old friends tomorrow (which I organised more than a month ago so cannot bail). Scared that I will cave in for a cig, but know that I need to face it head on and delaying it won't help... Need to summon up that inner willpower!
Hey Cassie, Yes 24 days on Champix. 12 Days 10 hrs smoke free. Strange, I've been coping OK ish then Wednesday & Thursday I had real bad days (really bad) nearly caved. Outside influences & bad vibes around me. In a strange way, if I did caved I would not only let myself down but also this community & people like you who keep me strong in times of need.
I'm sure you'll have a great time out with your old friends, I'm SURE you have that inner willpower to cope with drink & smoke. First time I drank out not smoking I felt surprisingly smug with myself for not smoking. ha ha. I wish you good luck. Wow Just checked out HIIT. That looks great & really good for you. I used to do similar when I played Rugby (training) & for T.O.W when I was younger. Stay strong, keep up exercises & well done on quitting your doing great Cassie.
