Hey Monica1969 - I promise things will settle down soon, even without the warm weather, sleep disruption is a common withdrawal, you WILL get through this and see light at the end of tunnel shortly - deep breathing exercises will help with this and to wind down an hour before bed - no phones, listen to some of your favourite music or the radio with chill out music.... you are doing well :)

Hi Roisin01 thank goodness it’s a tad cooler today plus we have a lovely breeze which will circulate around my bedroom tonight, thank the lord I’m single and don’t have to share a bed 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I always take my iPad up and read my book on it, I generally nod off whilst reading. Cats don’t help as due to it being light early, they wake me up to go out, but 4am is a joke..!!! Once I get woke up I can’t get back to sleep

That was me too, was awake at 2:00 in the morning wide awake for a think the first couple of months, would fall back asleep 5 minutes before my alarm would go off!! Surprisingly enough, the remarkable body adapted to the reduced sleep and was in autopilot, when things settled down slept at the weekends for over 12 hours :O

The humidity is serious though here too, between 70% and 80% the last few nights...just left all the windows open upstairs for the night....

Me too, my daughter has been home from college today so left it open all day too so should be fresh and cooler.

I honestly put the sleep issue down to heat, didn’t think of the no smoking, I guess it’s just coincidence it’s been hot since I gave up.

I have been a bit ‘off’ yesterday and today, moody if you know what I mean, thought it would get easier

The moodiness, irritability and anxiety are all perfectly normal withdrawals, it WILL get easier, in a couple of weeks you will be posting about it, wait till you see :)

Well im only on day one but i do have some experience with insomnia. I feel for you because it is rough do you have a nighttime routine you follow? This can be helpful to get you in a groove if you don't have one already. Wishing you strength you got this babe!

Hi pattygirl1992, yeah I have my night time routine, I’ve always been a great sleeper to be honest, I think, not smoking, heat, cats waking me to go out and dreaming of my recently passed dad is not a great cocktail especially when I’m up at 6am for work. I’m sure I’ll get there though.

Well done on your first day, I think changing routine is the key in the early days, it was for me anyway, you’ll do great hun and we are here if you struggle at all xx

Wow. That is a lot. I can see why you have trouble sleeping. Hugs. A combination of grief and quitting alone would make it hard to sleep. much less the heat and the cats.i am sure you will get there too. i am sorry for your loss. I hope you are able to sleep more peaceably tonight.
