I'm afraid it's probably a bit of both but don't worry about that. Once everything has settled down (pretty soon probably) you'll be able to lose the weight, especially if you're exercising regularly.
I gained a lot, even though I was exercising. Once it got to the point where it was starting to get me down it had to go.
Thanks for the encouragement. I do feel alot of it is muscle gain. My legs are my greatest achievement. I work them very hard. I walk 8-10 miles a night at work then after, pump them with weights.
Instead of smoking, I nibble on my breaks and eating alot of protein foods.
Just worried about we weight, having Crohns, I have never been able to gain.
Ah sorry casinolife , didn't realise. Well at that rate in most probably is all muscle...which can't be bad! I just put on fat because I was eating us out of house and home.
My wife has Crohn's Disease too. She's not having too good a time with it at the minute but she's swapping consultants so maybe things will improve.
Thank you for the good words. Sorry to hear about your wife. J have had so many gastros. I went to Crohns and Colitus Foundations website and started cooking some of their recipes. They really helped plus lots and lots of vitamins.
Hey casinolife , good to hear from you. It is perfectly normal for everyone to put on a certain amount of weight in the initial stages of our journeys as with our new found taste and smell, food is now delicious Also, our metabolism has to adjust as when we smoked we ate less and now we are eating more regularly and foods that tend to put the weight. Try not to worry about it as it can be addressed if needs be later on when you are stronger and settled in your journey, remaining smoke free is your priority.

You are right, tho. I am surviving the smoking blues and am proud so far.
2 months its awesome casinolife ..And if you are going to the gym it’s perfect because you are helping your metabolism to work again ..
When we smoked ,nicotine was pushing metabolism to work .Now metabolism it’s starting to work without the nicotine
But is all worth it I did gain almost 15 pounds ..But I feel free and healthy .I have now all the time of my life to recover and accept any changes as long as I’m smoke free 🦋
Congrats on your two months smoke-free I am also 2 months and 9 days smoke-free and yes I did pack on almost 13 pounds yes I get compliments of my complexion and how good I look as well. I do notice I have been eating a lot more lately I always knew that smoking suppress my appetite and I was okay with that if I had one meal or two a day when I was smoking I just cared about smoking I didn't really have an interest in food. So I would have to say it is not muscle but that's okay spring is around the corner that means we can get out start exercising and getting healthy!!!
Exactly the same. Weight gain, didn't feel any better - but I do like the fact I'm not enslaved to smoking anymore. I can go out and not think about when I can smoke, where I can smoke etc...
Yes, thank you! No more waking up hacking. The small things are really good. The smell of spring, food and fresh cut grass.
My sister sent me a text the other day, inspiration, she admires my inspiration. All I said was, your body and mind can conquer this bad habit. Don't get me wrong, I dream about smoking. I will actually puck it up and light it, take a drag, throw it down and say, WHAT, I don't smoke. Its sooo real.
How are you doing my dear inspiration administrator
I'm grand thanks, continuing to be a lady of leisure while waiting to get a job - wasn't pleasant in the longest winter ever but last couple of days with the good weather and mini heatwave we are having, it has be good, first lawn cut done, first line of washing out - painting and gardening now for the weekend, fingers crossed it lasts
You are doing great, the smoking dreams are very real alright and off putting, almost 3 years smoke free and I still get the odd one....
