Can’t believe I’ve got this far. I never ever thought I’d be 4 months smoke free after being a slave to nicotine for so many years. Feeling great 👍🏼 Do I get a badge change? Lol

Exsmo. If you’re already at 2 months I’d say you’re home free. Nothing really changed for me after the 1st month. Any urges I had were minimal & pass after couple of seconds. We have both done brilliantly 🕺🏻🕺🏻🕺🏻

Do you mind if i ask how you quit? Am on meds to quit so i hope when am off them it stays the same with no bad craving like at first. Thanks for being so positive and encouraging

Hey Exsmo - I think you need to change your mindset on chantix and the fear of stopping it and that it is the magic pill keeping you from smoking, yes, it certainly does take the edge from nicotine withdrawal (as I stopped cold turkey, I am just going by other successful members have said using it).

You need to realize and embrace that you are 50 days smoke free and it is solely down to you, be very proud of this and have the belief in yourself that you are well on way to be smoke free even without the pills. But if you feel after the course is up that you are not ready, just go back to your doctor and get a further extension. Try to get the herbal supplements before you finish as they will help enormously with the mental battle of stopping. You can do this, I promise :)

Here is some pinned posts that may help with what to expect on withdrawal symptoms and time scales for them as knowledge is also key for us...

Sure. I read the Allen Carr book on how to stop smoking without gaining weight. Contemporarily I took Champix for 3 months straight. I had a fair amount of nausea (which I often wrote about here) After quitting Champix I felt a little strange but nothing to get worried about at all. If you’re interested I can tell you more about it. Just know that it’s totally manageable & you’re doing brill 🔝
