Hey ya'll! Just wanted to report how happy I am to be smoke free. After a weekend trip to a waterpark in Mississippi and staying at a Casino Resort Hotel (I don't gamble, but my family does), I saw how stupid I looked as a former smoker. It was also so weird seeing people walking in and out of buildings lighting one up. The over powering smell when we would pass by the casino area was so rancid that I could barely breathe. Reminds me of my smoking days, waking up in the morning barely able to breathe, but lighting up just because it was the norm.
Anyway, I even bought a cute shirt at a gift shop and when I got home to go throw it in the washing machine I noticed how much the brand new shirt smelled like stank cigs. I still cannot believe how nasty I was for 18 years, smelling like an ash tray and thinking no one else could smell me. Um yes, yes they could. I'm grateful I'm smoke free and grateful to get a glimpse of what I looked like because it motivates me to stay quit. My mother even said, "I'm so proud of you" and she is a smoker. That was the best reward yet!
