I am a male 22 years of age. I have never had acne in my whole life and suddenly after I quit (cold turkey) I have so many spots on my forehead. My skin looks more dull. Has anyone experienced this? Is this my body getting rid of toxins or something else? My hair is also getting worse. Please help. Motivation levels are going down :(

Hi Fahadyasin1 please stay motivated, I quit smoking 41 days ago and I did not experience what you had described. You are doing very well and my only advice is to go and talk to your doctor.

If you've never had acne before then it seems giving up and the condition are related. But I'm positive it will be short term and once the toxins are out you'll be fine. So stay quit and soon you'll have clear skin and clear lungs and what's wrong with that?

Welcome Fahadyasin1 and congratulations on over 1 month quit.

Yes, the acne could be as a result of your body clearing out the toxins but also could be that your body is lacking in something or getting too much of something, for example, sugar. I would suggest water, water and more water and perhaps a visit to your health food shop for herbal and vitamin supplements, they should be able to advice and provide them for you.

PS Can you confirm your quit date for your milestone badges when you get a chance.

Fahad..Welcome and I take that you are a very wise young man to take the decision to quit at this young age.....There are millions of different withdrawel symptoms and there was an acne symptom previously on this forum..

Quitting is a life changing experience, your body and mind is reacting to the chemicals leaving your system...If it is normal only a GP can tell but you must try and stay motivated..!

That first few months is nasty and messy..But after that is a nice new life for you to enjoy smoke free..!!
