Just one bad day...

Day 46 of no smoking and I was feeling pretty smug. I'm still on the 7mg patch, but most of the urges had subsided until yesterday. My spouse was having a rough day and being very confrontational, and I found out my stubborn and perpetually mad brother refused shipment of a birthday gift I sent him, and returned it to the shipper. I tried to keep a positive attitude and went for a nice long bicycle ride, but still broke down and had a cig when I got home, and another a little later. It didn't make me feel any better, and didn't solve any of my problems...I guess I just fell into my old way of dealing with stress.

Today is a new day! I'm feeling better, and believe I can still do this. I made it a month and a half so far, so I'm not going to beat myself up over a little slip.  It was just one bad day.....

Oh what a horrid situation for you, but my word I have great news, you did indeed realise smoking changed nothing, so hoping you get back on track, one or two smokes is neither here or there, we've all done that.

Us keep going, am so pleased to read you realised smoking changed nothing, a massive positive for you.

I've just looked in my little black book, I swear it says Seahock is realising smoking changes nothing.

Just keep going and hoping tomorrow is a better day for you

Keep posting and reading.

Doing great

Sorry to read you had a slip Seahoch but delighted that you nipped it on the butt and are back on track.

This is just my thoughts, please be very careful because if you go easy on yourself and  allow just one in times of stress or distress and continue on, it will make it easy to do it again and again whereas if hard on yourself and treat it as a relapse and start again, it will give you the determination and focus that you need for a solid quit....

It took a slip like that for me to realise a cig doesnt make anything better, I'm off work with siatica and fighting a battle to stay positive I know a cig will not take the pain away or make me happy just the total opposite 70 days done and I refuse to give in
