Cheers from San Diego!

I have quit (misnomer) 2 times before cold turkey once, using patches once. Each lasted about a year.

I spent all day Monday with my lovely doctor and the emergency care nurse.

I'd coughed for years and could often hear wheezing, but I was in denial and so therefore, denial won out.

I currently have 2 days quit, but what came with it was 4 days of hacking cough, a fractured rib, and lung infection.

But also relief, and the knowledge that I have applied from another program, is helping tremendously.

This IS without a doubt the HARDEST drug I've ever walked away from.

I have hope, that one day at a time I can stay quit.

I wish you all a happy, positive journey to recovery.

Not to pontificate, but using NRTs is STILL getting the nicotine into your blood. The crap they say about "yea, but I'm not breathing in smoke" is BS. The reason being is, is that when we inhale, we only exhale 10% of SMOKE!!!!! When we use e-cigs, nicotine patches, we are STILL FEEDING THE ADDICTION for nicotine. Think about it - we do not crave the smoke, we crave the relief nicotine provides.

Badass welcome and good luck for your quit.

Abt your post, I subscribe to everything and see where you're coming from....but unfortunately not everyone has the same willpower as you.

All or nothing may not be the best option.

I used the champix and I'm delighted with the results.

I agree with your approach for replacements such as ecigs but the fact is that a lot of people are off tge cigarettes because of the ecigs.

All and all, good luck on you CT, I know you mean well and I wish this will be your last quit.

Stwy strong buddy!!!

Whoohoo BadAss, well done on 2 Days quit!!:) I too quit cold turkey 125 days ago (over 4 months) and never looked back.

Everyone's quit is unique to them and how the best way for them to quit and tend to agree with you on patches etc...and thats why I quit cold turkey as would be putting off the inevitable and delaying the whole quitting / withdrawal process, but I understand completely why people need help and wish them success in getting completely free from the nicodemon....

You seem to be in a great mindset in your quit, which is great and needed, keep it up and look forward to reading your progress
