Ummm, well before I break out into a full rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody, those words came to mind as I can hardly believe this is DAY THREE!!. SOMEBODY PINCH ME!!
I think it's all your accumulated Quit-Time vibes, guys, which must be permeating through the ether to hold me up during what is, I have to say, quite an excruciating experience (now I truly know what it means to be DYING for a fag....) BUT I haven't taken the first puff because I know the first puff means......back to Square One, if not worse.
Tonight is going to be a challenge - my first night out with friends where I know there will be HEAPS of smokers. I usually get 'seduced' by the smell of second-hand smoke (I know! Don't ask!) so I really need to 'keep it in the day' and just get through it for the next few hours, and then start again tomorrow.......
I truly can hardly believe that I'm three days (well, nearly) free. THANKS PEEPS!

You might find it easier tonight if you stay sober. It was the only way I could handle being around alcohol & other smokers for months. Mind you, there are some brave souls who find it easier to tackle the demon head on. Whatever tactic you use just keep telling yourself you want this quit more than anything.
Yay, everyone. Thanks for all your encouragement. Every single second this evening, I felt like a fag but your wise and supportive words have kept ringing in my ears. I realise one of the reasons I finally got to rock bottom with smoking is because my oesophagus (spelling?) was beginning to hurt when I breathed in while smoking, and now it's already beginning to feel better.
I told someone tonight that I was on Day 3 and they immediately said, 'oh don't worry, it'll get worse'! Then I realised, that may be their experience but I don't have to adopt their thinking. Things may well get worse but if I use that as an excuse, it means I haven't tried.
I really want to do this (she says with gritted teeth!), and I know that I can if I keep being honest about it (aaaargh!).
Well done Badge, that's amazing, I avoied that type of situation for months so you really are doing well.
Personally I don't think it gets any worse than the first 3 days. The challenges change but it's not the constant aching crave that you experienced last night, good luck for day 4.
