Well, day 3 is coming to an end and I am still in shock that I haven't had any negative thoughts or mad cravings!! I must sound like I'm repeating myself but, it's just so strange!!
I really didn't believe that Champix would work for me but, so far, so good!!
Looking forward to the end of the week, I'm going to treat myself in some way because I think I deserve it!
Another "1st today" went to the garage to fill up with petrol today and came out WITHOUT any ciggies, all these firsts are great!!
Also, someone at work commented on the smell of my perfume, something they've never done before, probably because the smell is lost on my way to work by puffing on a fag!!

Wahay - another "Champix is a wonder drug" person!
I had a problem with this quit in that I had tried NRT what seemed like a million times, and it just didn't work for me - and cold turkey, I just couldn't get through the first few days... sad and pathetically weak, thats me
However, Champix made the physical side of it unnoticeable so I could relax and make sure my head was in the right place by relaxing enough to read and reread the stuff that has helped me.
I applaud people who can do this cold turkey - I have no doubt that it's the "best way" to quit... but whatever gets you there is best for you.
I'm glad you are finding it relatively easy, but be on your guard - you will still get cravings from time to time. And use the tablets to make sure you are mentally ready... thats the bit that really matters, whatever way you quit!

Well done, you should be proud of yourself.
I am certainly on my guard and have many thoughts throughout the day but, they aren't thoughts that I got with NRT patches, they are more like "oh, I probably would have had a smoke now" but, not YET had a moment where I feel I'm going to crumble and that's what I find strange and amazing because I suppose that's what I was expecting from previous attempts to quit.
I am also determined to take the full course of tablets as psychologically, I think it is more beneficial. There is an obvious reason for them offering 12 week courses, otherwise it would have been less wouldn't it?
I am proud of myself and hope I continue to amaze myself!
Can i ask the current crop of Champix users....."do you get weird dreams?
A few of the previous Champix users, (Onemoretry,,cword etc) alll reported dreams (mostly pleasant i believe).
I haven't had any weird dreams that I can remember but, on the 7th day of taking the tablets, I woke up at 4am laughing to myself!! I had to get up and go to the loo and remember sitting there laughing but have no idea why??
kittycat my gf is about to start a course of Champix....i hope she finds it as good as you seem to be.
Well done you are doing really well.
Good luck to your GF, I hope it works for her too!
I think you have to be in the right frame of mind and really want to do it! I made sure there were no excuses such as PMT, Period, no ciggies or lighters in the house and plenty to keep me occupied for the first couple of days to take my mind of it when I actually reached Quit day.

Funny enuff I had one last night - dreamt I had two garages and put the car in one and garden rubbish in the other until it was full, can't remember how it turned out though.
LOL Kitty - never done that before. You must have been dreaming of something really funny to wake up laughing. :D
