Day 2 - so far, so good.

I've only really just stopped and sat down today and it's now I'm sort of noticing it. Same as yesterday - keep thinking 'I'll pop out now and...' and then realise that I don't need to. Also some jaw clenching going on again. Other than that all is good.

Have noticed that people smell :D no offense. Going around Sainsbury's was a whiffing experience. More people fart in the supermarket than I had ever noticed before and some definitely needed a wash.

Slept well last night - really well. However, I'm tired today. Went through a phase earlier where I couldn't stop yawning - and I mean constantly! Eyes watering, the whole lot.

Picked up some more patches - Sainsbury's have them at half price which is nice - so a weeks worth for less than the price of a pack of fags! I'm not planning on using them for too long but, they are helping with the craving quite effectively. It seems to be the habit of behaviour I'm struggling most with. Everything, when I smoked, was either before or after a cigarette. I guess that is why I think about 'popping outside' so bloomin much :)

Coughing has started already - it actually started yesterday, on Day One. After 25 years of smoking I'm actually pleased that the lungs are still able to clear in the first place.

Noticed I'm not as thirsty as usual so, I'm going to make an effort to remember to drink regularly.

So far so good.

Getting your sense of smell back is the best! Food tastes better, perfume smells heavenly and I'm pretty sure last spring didn't smell this good. Only thing is you have to put up with the bad smells as well and remember that when you were a smoker you stank to most people too!

Well done on day 2, you seem really positive x

Doing a grand job with your quit, sounding positive I also use the patch method (lowest dose now). And for me it has been the difference between failure or success.

I know it's strange when we quit, can smell a smoker from a mile away how odd. (We use to smell like that yuk)

Just keep going , brilliant :):):)

Well done Looper! :D

Yes, the habit thing takes the longest to overcome but every time you face a trigger point and get through it, it gets easier and as time passes the trigger/habit moments become fewer and further between as your brain hardwires itself into a different routine.

Ice-cold water helps the cough, I found, as well as the craves and the more you hydrate the better especially whilst you're effectively detoxing. It'll do wonders for your skin and hair too. :)

Love the Supermarket Farters by the way!

Get plenty of rest, grit your teeth when you need to and just keep going as you are. :)
