Just been over to the local store to get some milk and came away feeling like ive been kicked in the nuts.
For some time now ive been speaking to a very nice lady who works there and decided today was the day when I was going to ask her out. Can you imagine how I felt when I asked where she was today and was told "oh she out the back having a fag"

my hubby has never smoked, it didnt get in the way with him. Maybe its different when you have smoked, but never know she may like you enough to join your quit
I'd be gutted too - I think it is different if you've never smoked, and I would imagine if you've been quit a while it is less important, but early on the stop smoking journey I, like you, would be gutted too
Why?
Three things:
The first is the risk of giving in to temptation during a moment of weakness - easy access and availability heightens that risk
The second is the possibility of turning into a grumpy monster when she left the restaurant table after each course to light up, lit up on leaving the cinema, nipped outside during tv ad breaks etc - all things I have done myself, how two-faced can a person be?
Third since stopping smoking I am super alert to the smell of smoke, I can sniff it out from an incredible distance away - like a super power She would just reek like a stale ashtray to my currently over sensitive nose - nice huh?
Thanks guys for your comments and advice but I think mina has hit the nail on the head with her reasons two and three. I really don't want to be around smokers. Its not that I don't trust myself as I know I will never smoke again. I just cant stand the thought of it.
