I was last on here in March 2010 which is scary to think it's been 4 years.....
I'm looking for advice/encouragement/tips etc. I can't decide whether to try using an e-cig (I've got socialites) or just go cold turkey straight away. I've been wanting to stop for years, always found an excuse, same old story.
I smoke about 20 a day, it's costing a fortune, I've got two wee boys who need to have their Mum around in years to come, I'm trying to save for a wedding, it's damaging my health, I could go on and list reasons to stop til the cows come home...!
I've been thinking about trying again for a while now but I feel as if I've suddenly kind of got an urge to do it this week. I don't know if I should follow that or wait until I'm better prepared? The common sense part of my brain is telling me that putting it off til I'm 'prepared' is just an excuse?!
Anyone got any particular tips/advice?
Thanks and good luck to you all.

I'm with Debbie. If something inside is telling you now is the time why wait?
Perhaps you should use the e-cig at least in the short term to get you through the worst. You can always wean yourself off it when your quit is properly established.
Well done for returning for another bash and welcome back to the forum.
Hi my lovely, I personally looked on this forum a long while prior to deciding would use patch, how ever there are sooo many ways to quit, it's what ever suits you and your life style.
I wish you all the best in deciding to quit, it's always a great decision.
Thanks guys! I think I've decided to just try and see how I get on. At the end of the day, any attempt is better than none and I'll be able to gauge what support I'll need in the form of patches/ecig etc. Eeeeek!
Absolutely agree with the above... If you leave it there's the risk of talking yourself out of it and putting it off for a while.... we have all done that in the past I'm sure, I know I have... Excellent advice to try the ecig initially even to get you through the first few weeks if that's what you want to do or to help you cut down before you choose a quit date in the near future, good luck xxx
