Champix Day 4

Day 4 of taking champix, so still smoking, I dont really feel much different but hopefully now Im taking 2 tablets a day I will start to feel less like smoking

Howdy Grace, welcome to the forum!

I've heard great things about Champix...I'd never actually heard of it before I quit, d'oh!

There are loads of folks here who have quit with it, though, who will give you all the help you might need.

Hiya, well done for taking the plunge there's lots of info on here about champix so I'm sure if you have any queries there will be someone on here, in fact I know Max took them to quit and he's been quit for over a year and will defo be able to advise, good luck with your quit xxx

Hi Grace,

Started my Champix on 25 Jan and am on day 10 of the pills, had no real side effects - wind at the start, no bad dreams or any of the other side effects either thankfully! I was concerned about what I have read also and I was beginning to wonder when I would no longer have the urge and when would the tablets start to work......

I have been a smoker for 26 years and was horrified when the nurse classed me as a heavy smoker! :eek: have cut down from 10/15 a day to 6 since I have been on the pills.

Anyways back to it....today got up had a smoke, breakfast and pill then another smoke about an hour later. No more smokes until around 1pm and stood outside in garden puffing away (hubby packed up 13/9/2013 on patches still smoke free) and then all of a sudden had a stinging feeling on my tongue which I can only liken to the pain from a stinging nettle and I threw the fag. Since then my tongue hurts like it has loads of ulcers on it and I don't even want a fag!!!! The thought of that again puts me right off!!! I can think about a fag and at the moment am totally not interested.....see how it is in the morning.

Will come back and post as I go along - good luck to everyone who wants to or is in the throws of booting the fags for good!!!
