Two year anniversary
My two year milestone was on Jan 19, 2014. So glad I stopped smoking. People tell me I look so healthy - it makes your skin look better because it's getting a better blood supply.
I've saved about $12,000 ( Aus ) Don't ask me where that money is - I don't know where it's gone but at least I'm not forever hunting around for money for cigarettes.
Although I usually don't think of smoking, every now and again I will feel like a cigarette. That's when I remember HALTT and ask my self - why do I want a cigarette? Am I Hungry, Angry, Lonely, Thirsty or Tired. Usually it's one of those, generally hungry or thirsty. Then I usually fix up the craving with a drink of water.
Life is sooooo much better as a non-smoker. For my celebratory 2 year treat ( I haven't done anything yet ) I'm going, along with a friend who I'm treating, to dinner then afterwards to see David Sedaris the author whom I find very funny - he's visiting Brisbane at the moment.
2 years well done

Wow that is brilliant, 2 whole years well done
I was in Brisbane a couple of years ago, (we just left and headed back to Canberra when you had all the floods), and have to say I found smoking over there more expensive than here in the UK. The cost of them now however, is nothing to what we have gained.
So well done, once again
Margie
Thank you
Thank you Margie for the congratulations & congratulations to you Bluetree.
Yes, cigarettes over here are VERY expensive - I haven't looked at the price lately but they were over $20 a packet when I quit. That's a lot of money. Mind you when I was a smoker I would justify it with things like - I save money other ways etc. A junkie's mindset.
You were lucky to miss the floods - my suburb - New Farm - was hit a bit by the floods, although I was lucky and escaped them. The waters came up from the drains & flooded people's homes. At the moment there is a lot of work going on at New Farm park to put back-flow valves in the system. It should not happen again.
We are in the middle of a heat wave now & love it when it rains
