By date, my 6 months will be reached on 26th July.
Almost done with all the marking and paperwork at college which is seriously stressful and another huge trigger point which has been well and truly kicked into touch.
This January group is a successful band of troopers by the look of it.
Thank you Bluetree. I'm still here. 6 months for me was yesterday. Feel good like its unremarkable. New guy at work smokes can smell him coming for miles.
I used to be worse!!!!
Got asked for a ciggie last week. Wife proudly declared "he doesn't smoke" while stood by and nodded smugly. I had no idea how much she's enjoying this, probably worth the tough early days if only for that...

Well done everybody.

I have been asked for a light as well..and I tell them I have QUIT! I have had folks to check on me too..they say: How are you doing? and I tell them I did this many days! Its a good feeling! Oh and yes, I can smell a smoker too! To think that USED to be us! WOW..OMG! My BF in Georgia I know will be so happy to get closer to me now...and I too! No more smoke smell on me!
Hi everyone, i am 6 months on 14 July, still going strong and hardly come on here any more as i never think about it, its such a great feeling to be quit and i never in a million years thought i would reach this milestone!! Cant believe how much my sense of smell and taste has changed for the better i never knew that people standing in doorways smoking smelt so bad!!! Well done everyone who quit in January
Hi all im still hanging on, although ive had a lot of cravings this past couple of days. I'm still going to my exersize classes and i've dropped 1 dress size Not gona lie I still want to smoke tho....might have a go in the plastic puffer
Just to say a big well done to all of us. Feeling great and the cravings have disappeared , but always on my guard. So proud of you all keep up the brilliant work and see u all in the penthouse can't wait. Very best wishes pammiewammiexxx .
Sorry I am trailing behind you all, I am 5 months quit and so far so good but never say never, sorry but do occasionally get that little voice saying a smoke would be nice now esp with a glass of wine, but I avoid being near smokers not because I'd be tempted but the smell disgusts me

Lills you are the same point as me. I know exactly how you feel. We have done brilliantly! We both smoked for a long time we will not forget this overnight. You are my quit buddy and I am sure that we will both reach that landmark of 6 months.
Hi Haze I'm glad that I have now got a quit buddy, we can swap stories, have a look at the post I put on egg and soldiers just now it's funny really, like you say we have been smoking for such a long time it's going to take a good while to forget them like today going somewhere and automatically looking to see we're there any ash trays on the tables outside and having a little freak because there wasn't ha ha xx
Still here. I'm getting more confident. I feel the worst I've felt since I quit (I'm facing a lot of personal challenges and professional pressures) but I've never felt that a ciggie would make me feel better.
Before if I felt like I do now I'd have changed p from my usual 15 a day to closer to 40. Now, I use all those extra ciggie breaks to actually address the issues. So instead of smoking at 100 mph and panicking I'm using the extra time in my day to work harder and strategize better.
I don't know whether quitting has made me a more effective professional but I know it hasn't made me any worse. So we continue...
Yes, I'm still going strong - nearly 10 months. I've just been out for a run. My aim now is to lose the 7kg I've put on before the year is up. I want to have lost some weight by Christmas - don't want to have to buy heaps of new clothes!!
I love not smoking; don't love the extra weight, but I know it'll be easier to lose weight than it was to stop smoking for 10 months.
All the best to the other January 2012 quitters - we're nearly in the Penthouse.

I am fighting everyday to stay in my size 10 jeans! I love not
smoking ....I never thought I could get here ...but I am sober! LOL!
JK I am glad I do not smoke..and I never will again.
I am still here and smoke free. I will never be a slave to the almighty fag again!!! It feels FANTASTIC to say that and know it is true!!! 11 months and 9 days...and counting!! ppat
Sneaking in here, although I am not in the January club. You were all the people just ahead of me in the early days - I was the one lagging behind you all determined to try and keep up.
Huge well done to all of you who have lasted the course. There is no reason or no sense for any of us to turn back at the stage.
I'm still going. No cravings at all except (oddly) when I drink green tea.
The green tea is to help me try to shake the 7+kg I've put on since I quit. I am absolutely determined. I am refusing to have any clothes altered, I just won't button up my suits until I've lost the weight.
Upside is that I find exercise (and a lot of sports that I loved) a lot easier now, so I've now picked up my running and squash again.
Funny how the issue is now losing weight not quitting smoking. Apparently all they discuss in the penthouse is dieting!!!

I am holding on for dear life! LOL! It seems I am determined to somehow come out of my size 10...I am doing all I can to hold on! That is the big fight with me for now...Smoking is nothing...drinking nothing...I don't even eat that much it seems...but all is tight! Anyhow, we march on and go from here! I gained about 10 lbs...but no matter..I will be a-ok!
10 months today of no smoking. Only 2 months until I'm in the Penthouse. I'm going to be soooo skinny when I enter the Penhouse; I've got 2 months to lost weight.

I've lost some weight, but would like to lose a bit more before I enter the Penthouse. At least my clothes fit me again However, I think that once you stop smoking you have to watch your diet since the metabolism slows down. On the positive side, the slower the metabolism, the longer you live ( at least that's my take on it).
