Hi all. I have quit cold turkey for 59 days now. So far so good and even survived Christmas and new years.
My issue is next month I have a beach holiday. Holidays for me usually meant chain smoking for a week. I am really worried about caving into the cigs while on holiday. I don't want to ruin my quit but also want to have a stress free holiday. Any advice will be gratefully received

Hi Woody, first of all holidays were my worry but I have to say they were a lot easier than I imagined they would be.
I think the key is to not worry about it too much you have got the physical addiction under control now it is just the mental association that you need to deal with. You want to hang on to your quit and that is what will help you. Try not to drink too much as that lowers your resolve (IMO)
You have done so well and you managed to get through xmas and new year so a holiday should be no problem for you. Have a great smoke free holiday. I did after worrying myself silly about it. It was surprisingly easy
Thanks for the messages and haha yes will try to spend lot of my time swimming in the sea things I will keep in mind during my holiday are:
1) none of my friends going (including me) are smokers
2) I refuse to ruin my quit (60 days so far)
3) worked out I will hit day 100 no smoking while on holiday which is a milestone I want to hit and back in my miserable days of last November i never believed then that was possible
4) I am running the London marathon in April so smoking is an absolute No!

Wow, we have another forum member running the London marathon, our own Angry bear!
Well I am now sure that you will have a smoke free holiday, you are so positive and sound very determined too. Have a great time
