Hi yes on almost 10 weeks quit, never noticed how much more I noticed that my chest is tight, but am told this s normal, as when we smoke we don't take on board what's happening, it's only when we quit, that we are more aware of our health, it's like so precious now we re quitting.
My dad has copd, and believe me it does not appear that quickly, just keep reading and posting , people always around to help.
I heard that the reason we all get tight chests is because as a smoker, we all breath deeply when taking a drag but on giving up we don't deep breath and keep using all of our lungs. My GP said that you should aim to take as many deep breaths as you can to ease the tight chest feeling
