As your doctor has already checked you out, I wouldn't worry about this too much. My doctor told me that in the first three or four weeks, almost anything odd can be put down to quitting!
I don't know how long you smoked for, or how heavily, but if you think of it in terms of the adjustments that your body is having to make, it starts to make a bit more sense. Even though the nicotine and other chemicals weren't good for you, they represented what was "normal" for you for a long time.
On the coughing issue - some people do, and some don't - either is usually fine.
Another thing, i havent started coughing up any crap out of my lungs yet - does everyone get this? Should i be worried if i dont?

x2 on Mrs T's comment. Previously I've had attempts at stopping where I did and then others when I didn't. The main thing to take away is that it's not unusual not to.
Hi nick, on week 10 of my quit, first 6 weeks my chest was really tight, went exercising felt like my lungs were working about 70% had a strange feeling that I couldn't expand my lungs to full capacity. Week 6 developed cough, spent last 4 weeks coughing up shit, now beginning to feel loads better, lung function now brill.

Day 57 and I’m just experiencing dull achy chest pain, still able to play basketball and what not but the pain has gotten better everyday, my question is when do you think it’ll end. I had my ekg and everything checked out I was perfectly healthy according to my dock. Definitely looking for some reply’s
Welcome to our community Diddydelz and congratulations on now day 60, that is great, well done!!

What you are experiencing with chest tightness is perfectly normal and will pass and improve - I am over 2 years stopped now and experienced the chest tightness for maybe the first 12 weeks - for 6 months I took a spoonful of honey(raw if possible) in the morning and night to help the cilia hairs in your lungs and throat repair and regrow and to vaporize with Eucalyptus oil when needed to assist clearing out the lungs - lots of water, fruit and veg and a little walk everyday to clear the head.
BUT, if these symptoms get worse or not ease, I would go back to doctor and get checked again, did they not prescribe anything to help with it to loosen the phlegm or reassure you it was stopping related???
Below is a link to some pinned posts worth a read if not already done so. Remember your body and mind is working very hard to rewire, repair and recover, but the remarkable thing is that it will recover. We look forward to reading your progress, keep in touch
The chest tightness isn’t really it. Because I believe I’m breathing completely fine, I haven’t coughed up any phlegm I’m just wondering is it just the cilia growing back that makes it hurt. I had bad chest tightness along with anxiety about a month and half ago but now I don’t have that, I just feel like gas gets trapped in my chest from time to time and my chest cracks and never did before, is it Costochondritis? Today is day 60 but my doctor told me I was completely fine
Hi Diddydelz - unfortunately, this community is to share our struggles, concerns, up and down and to give advice/help on our stop smoking journey. We would not be in a position here to give any professional medical advice or to diagnose - the chest pain could be your lungs repairing, I would go back to your doctor and tell exactly the symptoms you have and get piece of mind....let us know how you get on....
PS If you are googling your symptoms, stop, as you will drive yourself crazy
That’s the truth and I have lol, thank you for that. I’ll try the honey and give it till the 90day mark, my chest has cleared out so much already since the beginning
