Well well well....into day 3 and still hanging in there. I must say Im very pleased with myself not to mention a bit suprised!!
I slept really well and things are manageable. Ive really got to stop eating though. If I carry on like this I will shopping on Jacamo before I know it!
I took Alan Carr in the bath with me last night (not literally of course because that would be horrible) and had a read. Ive read it before and unsucessfully tried his quit method (lasted 8 hours!!), but I just wanted to read some bits because it is helpful/motivational. What I dont understand is the bit where he says he stopped without having any withdrawal pangs. How can that be? I dont feel like Im missing out from stopping smoking or that I really want to smoke right now (I know deep down Im not giving anything up etc) but Ive still got this horrible constant empty feeling that I would consider to be withrawal pangs. Is Carr really saying that he never had those feelings?? Maybe Im just being thick and missing the point.
Anyway, pangs or no pangs, as of now Im still a non-smoker! Woohoo!!
To everyone else going through this battle with me today, good luck and keep smiling

60 hours is a flipping good start, well done you!!
Think the best thing to do with Allen Carr is take the bits *you* find helpful and ignore the rest. I don't agree with him on a few bits (especially NRT) but that's just having a different experience.
What you have to remember is that he was smoking around 100 fags a day and he says in his second book that every time he sparked up he got a nosebleed. Don't know about you but the most I ever smoked was about 30 (nights out turned me into a chimney) and my throat wasn't happy about that so how on earth he coped with that amount I don't know - *but* going through that you would be on a high, from the extra freedom and oxygen if nothing else!!
Don't worry about it, and keep taking it one day at a time.
