I quit smoking cold turkey 11 days ago, I have smokers around me all the time, and tonight they were all pressuring me to "taste" a cig now, I had the smell around me, So i took 1 puff, didn't inhale at all, blew out as soon as it got in my mouth, and spat and spat as I didn't like the taste, I feel fine, just worried that its going to be like day 1 again, Or because I didn't inhale, Or because there may of only been a tiny bit of nicotine will it not be as bad as day 1-2-3? I really couldn't do them days again, I'm hoping because I got it out of my mouth so quick I wouldn't of got any Nicotine in my body.. what do you guys think? x

Kudos to you for going the CT route. 11 days is absolutely fantastic!!! I don't think you need to count that "one puff" but I think maybe you should try and stay away from so many smokers for the time being. I am sad that your friends would try to pressure you but i agree with Margaret that they are probably a wee bit jealous deep down.
Why folk who smoke do this to folk when they are quitting smoking is beyond me. Yes its got to be jealousy, they wish they had your strength, and trying to make you crack is just downright lousy of them. period.
I would definitely avoid each and every point where they are around now and smoking because you now know how low they will stoop to try to tempt you back to their 'fold'.
Don't give in to their games.. you got enough to deal with.
Thanks for your replies, feeling ok today no cravings so I think i may have just edged it.
Yes i no thats what i said, Jeliousy, it was actually my mother who did it, swaying it in my face. My sister does it alot too, but it was just last night that I cracked. I'm glad i didnt take it down, I knew i was screwing up as soon as i took a puff and it was like a cough really to get it out lol.
eeek then i hope you don't mind my comment at the opening of my previous post there, its still lousy of them all the same.
No you keep this going.. its worth too much to you.
Do your utmost now to avoid this type of situation again.. don't let them get the satisfaction. Don't even touch a cig or packet of them, let alone have one lit.
It's a shame that your mother hasn't supported you during your quit but keep going we're all here for you for the tough times....also next time your sister waves a cigartette in your face just think how lovely and glowing your skin will be, how white your teeth and how gorgeous you will smell compared to your stinky sister, with her yellow teeth and hands and grey face and dark circles under her eyes.

LOL this made me laugh so much!!! You are right.
My teeth were my main reasons, they have always been my pride and joy, then i got a stain  Also I'll be coming up to 17, so the money i will save will go on driving lessons!
I think you are doing amazing. I am on day 4 and have been struggling badly yesterday and today, but i have read on your other posts you have smokers in the house so you have had it worse. Im not sure i could have done it if i was surrounded by smokers.
You keep going, just think of those driving lessons and sparkling white teeth
This is the 2nd time i've read a post where you have mentioned your mother trying to tempt you back into smoking.
I refrained from commenting on the first one as you wouldent like my reply.
All i'll say is as a father myself, and even when I was smoking, the last thing i would want is my kids to smoke, and if they did (and I was still smoking), id support them and encourage them to give up, not tempt them back.
This is my polite reply and again, i'll refrain from speaking my mind on this one. Just keep strong, and ask your mother to be a mother, support you and to stop doing stupid things that you would expect from adolescents in a playground and not your own mother!!!

Hi Ash
I'm so sorry that your Mum and Sister are so jealous that they would try and break your quit
Well done for not letting that happen despite their best efforts I knew that your family didn't support you but to go this far I fail to understand at all
I have 5 children all of whom smoked at some stage of their lives 4 have now quit but I wouldn't have dreamt of trying to scupper those quits even though at the time I was still smoking indeed I was and am very proud of them all
Well done you. It is wonderful that you have managed to stop when you are so young, you will not have to worry about all the smoke related illnesses etc.
Congratulations for getting to day 22 it's something to be very proud of. I hope that your family are now going to support you, no offence but by some of the posts I have read it seems like your family have been acting very immature and childish. I'm glad your quitting and at 16 I think you are a very mature young lady, focus on those driving lessons that you want, and then when you pass, that car that you want
well done ashli, just read ure posts, sorry to hear ure support network at home is zero, uve done so well considering & if i was your mum i would be so proud of you love, well done xx
Hi Ash, Wow!!! day 22, good for you. I'm on day 28 and it's really hard, but i feel proud of myself, you are cold turkey which is even better. Bet your smelling luvly with white teeth now, so glad you realised at 17 it's a disgusting, horrible habit, wish i had. PROUD OF YOU GIRL..XXX
