Hi all im new to this forum and this is my first post.

I was just about to be able to say 2 months smoke free after smoking for 17 years at 20 a day,but for some stupid unknown reason i decided to have a few last night and a few this morning, (14 fags in total ). Im so annoyed with myself but I am not having any more, I did not enjoy any of them so here it is again DAY 1 back at the beginning.......but with more determination this time... i will kick this habit for good !!!!!! :)

Welcome Mrs Wilks.

A valuable lesson learned to avoid repeated visits to the 'Day 1' room:D - I know it myself, having thrown away a ten month quit a few years ago, but it took me a rediculous amount of time to climb back on the wagon so well done for going for it again.

If you're new to the forum I suggest you have a good read through some of the threads, both current and previous; you'll find plenty of great advice and inspiration to beat this addiction once and for all:)

We're very helpful and supportive and it's a good idea to grab an online "quit buddy" so you can message them privately if you need to on top of regular posting.

We're all very helpful, at various stages of our quits, and because you've been through it before you know what it's going to be like.

It get's easier every time they say!

Welcome to the forum!

Hey Mrs Wilksand welcome to the forum :)

I hope you're finding it useful so far. Personally, I wouldn't be heading into month three in the next couple of days without this place. Please feel free to rant at us or to shout and scream anytime. There is a huge amount of support here and there will always be someone available to provide a shoulder.

Well done for jumping back onto the wagon so soon! x

Hi Mrs Wilks

How you doing today? I've had a blip as well so lets get back to it.

Sophie

But Everyone on here is happy to support anyone else, our common aim is for all people who register and post on here, who have decided to quit,to get all the support advice and encouragement they need-if you fail your quit,we will not judge or criticise you or make you feel stupid or a failure,we will just redouble the support we give you to help you get off and running-of those people who can achieve 1 month quit, about 40% of those will go on to quit for good, and 3 months quit-about 60% can make a permanent quit. That compares to only about 5% of people who set out,so make a month and massively improve your prospects

Max, that really does sum up what this forum is all about and very sensitively too...(Did Mrs Max write it??xlol)

Seriously though everyone, I think the 'everyone is a quit buddy' is great because, that moment when you really, really need support, one specific person might not be available but at least one forum member will be about within a few minutes. The more you post, the more we get to know each other and the easier it is to support.

Well done Lucy for seeing it as a blip :D !!

I had my last one at 11am yesterday so im now past the day 1 mark and back on the road.

Im finding it ok again now ive got little cravings but im using lozenges and a electronic fag. Have you tried drinking a glass of pop instead of eating that's what I do and so far I haven't put any weight on.

I wish I had seen this forum before its great the support is unreal :D

Hi Mrs Wilks (Do you have a nother name? is this your real name/nickname? Just seems so formal)

well done at crashing through the one day mark. you could really say that you had stopped for how ever many week with a small blip in the middle, wasnt even a day of smoking was it? so long as you can control it now and not get sucked in again by the little demon...there is no such thing as just one puff?

Hi Linzi

I'm past my first day again though i'm still seeing it as though i've still done 3 month except for one days blip :))

I'm using an inhaler to get me over the first few awkward days again and eating everything in sight but if you read my recent post you'll see how i'm dealing with that. I will try drinking a lot more water......thanks....that may help. Been up since 7am and not eaten yet which i find quite easy but its kinda like i'm scared to start eating because i don't wanna stop once i do lol.

Its a lovely day so i just need to try to plan to do something interesting................not much of that for the last few years!

Keep up the good work !!!
