Why is it that today.....day 3......I'm wanting a cig more than I did yesterday?
I get the feeling today is gonna be tough

Hang in there Amanda, you'll get days like this but they get further apart and easier to deal with as you go along.
Get through today and tomorrow will not only be easier but you'll have proven to yourself that you are a strong lady and you'll be really proud of yourself!
Remember, you want this and you're going to have to work at it some days. Grit you teeth and get through.
I'm thinking of you and sending you hugs

Day 3 is generally regarded as the peak of the physical withdrawal, take it as it comes don't dread it as that will only make it worse, try to approach it with a positive attitude and focus on the fact that once you are through it you'll never have to repeat it.
Day 3 is a well known 'hump' in the early quit stages, its the nicodemon trying its very best to lure you back onto the ciggies. Dig deep and remember you have completed 2 days smoke free so surely you can do another, stay focused and before you know it day 3 is over.
Enjoy your trip in to town today with your boys, my 2 boys aged 13 & 15 no longer 'allow' me to accompany them on such trips so make the most of it and feel proud that you are doing it smoke free

Hi there is it helps you take today 1 hour or even a minute at a time, it does get easier i can assure you of that. Well done for quitting and dig deep you can do this.
Great advice When I found I had a day where the cravings kept coming, I would just tell myself that I coulds smoke later or ask myself "Do I need one now?". The answer would always be no and I was eventually able to take it a day at a time and so on.
Every now and then I put this to the test when I'm fed up or having a stressful day, and it still works for me
Thanks guys, great advice as usual x
@Donna my boys are 13 and 11 and it was school shoe shopping, however, my eldest got back from air cadets at 10 last night and was shattered, also its is bleeding well snowing again so not off to town today.
@Molly thanks for the hug x

Hi Midwifey
Everyone's right, day 3 is one of the toughest - but it does get easier when you get through it!!
Basically distract yourself as much as possible, say "I'll have one in 20 mins" (obviously don't spark up though) and by then the urge has usually passed!!
Ooh, and come on here to rant and rave if it helps
Hi Gemma
I don't have any in the house. Have tried that on previous quits and i just end up smoking them. I'm lucky that my local shop closes at 5 and the next nearest I have to drive to lol

You're safe then!! Just "promise" yourself one "later" and it should shut the crave up
Just going to promise myself the e-cig later....................................BUT only if i really need it
