My daughter is arriving this evening for a few days, so have been busy preparing for her visit. Cleaning, cooking and baking her favourite chocolate cake. The time has passed quickly and only now as I sit down with a cuppa have I thought about smoking. When will I finally stop missing them? Should I get some NRT or carry on cold turkey? As I have gone 22 days now completely nicotine free perhaps I would be foolish to buy anything containing nicotine, especially as they are so outrageously expensive here in Spain. Just would love to feel relaxed again, but I will not cave in however uptight I feel. Drunk my cuppa had my little winge on here now must get on and forget mr nickodemon at least till the next time he pops his nasty little head up.
Busy day: My daughter is arriving this... - No Smoking Day
Busy day
Hi Jeannie,
I have to admit, I'm quite relieved to see someone posting on here about struggling at twenty odd days. I thought I was going bonkers.
Apart from a few patches to begin with, I managed without until this weekend. Since Saturday I seem to have discovered a new struggle in my mission
I've not decided if it will hinder or help (still trying to work that out), but I have decided to order an e-cig.
I am taking my days minute by minute at the moment, and I hope to not need my e-cig, unless absolutely necessary (it hasn't arrived yet!), but I decided that I would rather have a back up, for my own sanity.
My advice is not to use NRT unless you're really struggling, but also to do whatever you feel is necessary to keep away from the ciggies!
Xxx
I don't think we are the only ones still struggling at three weeks on. I have been reading your posts and know you are having a battle. It is so hard to know what to do to help with the cravings. I too have thought about ecigs but discounted them as I was afraid they are too much like the real thing but you must do whatever is right for you. Good luck with whatever you decide, as long as we stay quit that's what matters.

It's quite common unfortunately, had it too myself so know it's horrible!!
It does get better though
As you're so far in I'd not use anything with nicotine in unless it's that or fags - anything is better than going back to them!!

Jeannie you have done fantastic and you have done the hard bit too. I would lay off the NRT you dont need it. Enjoy your daughters visit and think how proud and pleased she will be for you! Good job!
