I bought a pair of trousers on eBay - they were a bargain 
and that's where a lot of my fag money has ended up.
Anyway, as soon as I opened the packet I could smell it - fag smoke - well I'd have put them in the wash anyway 'cos I always do but *blech*
Am trying to convince myself that I didn't smell like that 'cos I smoked outdoors but have a nasty feeling I did 
I only ever smoked outside Gemma.I even gave it a few minutes after a fag for the smell to dissipate before going back in wherever I was.I hoped.
Nah,we still had that awful pong 
If it wasnt for that stink,I would have found it much harder to quit.

Me too - and a squirt of perfume or body spray, have saved a fortune on that too since I quit, bonus!!

Gemma you smell lovely, I get a scent each time you go past me in the quiz leaderboard anyway if you did smell pongy before, you don't these days and that's all that counts.....

Well they were a bit less when I smoked - they went up not long after i quit, but 20 Marlboro lights are £8 in my garage shop :eek:
And they were the cheapest I could smoke without gagging - yucky yuck!!

I can remember saving a couple of days dinner money to buy fags for a "treat" sometimes too - no way could I do that now!!
We could buy them at the corner shop, 10p for one.

I used to get 10 menthols from a friend who worked in a shop back when I was at school but don't know anywhere that sold them by the each
Me neither! I'm trying to remember how much 10 B&H was when I started, my head says 88p but surely I have to be making that up? It was the summer before I turned 16 so that would make it 1989.

Used to use my dinner money to buy them when i felt like it, so it can't have been much!!
Just before I head to bed you youngsters may not know that in the 60s/early 70s you could buy packets of 20 fags from wall mounted machines,often outside shops.This example of one many years after use,takes 3 times 10p=30p so just after decimalisation in 1971 I would say.
Some of the cigs were terribly strong,like 'Capstan Full Strength' or 'Senior Service' they were merciless on your throat I was told.

I can remember trying to get up courage to go just inside one of the local pubs where there was a fag machine. Never did, got them off a friend instead instead though!!
Oh and my mum went in to buy Senior Service for one of my dad's friends and got warned how strong they were
I remember my mum sending me to the shop to buy 10 Number 6, when I was bout 8 or 9.
They were Players No 6, Light blue, green and white striped packet. Mind you, I never started smoking until I was 22, stupid really.
