That's fantastic news Nik,

I'm so pleased you've made the best decision of your life. We're all here to lend a helping hand. Are you quitting today?

Good luck, even though you won't need it!

just remember to take each day at a time and if it helps each minute to start with and keep focused on your reasons for quitting

keeping your hands and thoughts busy is the key especially to start with when your just constantly thinking of smoking and also wondering if your going mad because you cant stop thinking about smoking but it is do able those thoughts do get weaker

Congratulations

Congratulations on one of the best decision you've ever made Nik.

There are many people who have travelled the journey before you and they've left their many "messages in a bottle" in this forum to ensure that you're not

totally alone.

Chances are that any problems you have with quitting have been experienced by a quitter before and a good place to start is to read as many posts as you can from this forum.

Try Try Try again

Nik lovey dont quit your quit, its HARD we know that and thats why we're here, so this way didnt work for you, we know that you should try something else, have a lil think on WHY, was it what we call a trigger? or an overpowering crave?

think

H A L T (hungry? Angry? Lonely? Tired/Tempted)

You got this, you're ready AND you'll be ahead of all the jan 1st quitters! you can be their pathfinder, if you lookback through any quitters posts we all post every 5 mins for about 6 weeks :D you know why - DISTRACTION break the habit, if you have a tea and a smoke first thing, have a coffee and a bit of toast, as you beat the crave you break the cycle, and thats the aim for us all, just breaking that cycle, and DIG through aged posts here, there are some truly motivating and heartwarming and inspiring posts that show no matter the year no matter the person, we are all going through the same things xxx

So dust your self off, grab some armour (nrt or books or your weapon of choice), chin up deep breath and smile.

We got your back,

Hi Nik, whatever happens stay on this forum and keep trying. It's true that you CAN do this, you just have to believe in yourself.

We are all here whenever you are ready to give it a go.

You and Patti could be quit buddies! :D

Please let us know how you're getting on honey

Nik

Whatever you do dont see this as a failure - it takes a lot of guts to even decide to stop.

I am a great believer in the fact that everything happens for a reason

There'll be other times Nik dont be hard on yourself at all - perhaps you were under too much pressure on that day

I only stopped on Xmas day because on this day I was under no pressure at all - I dont do Xmas.

Boy do i remember that first day and boxing day - I know how hard it is - I will never understand why I didnt light up.
