Sian, I'm putting it on too. I'm not worrying about it at the moment as I'm confident I can lose it in due course. Quitting is far more important to me than temporarily putting on weight (even if it is for 6 months to a year).
Im sure I read somewhere that theres a relationship between Nicotine(receptors?) and sugars. They "use" up sugars when youre smoking so could weight gain be down to excess sugars caused by not exciting them receptors? I dont know.Ive put on weight too! I agree with Biggrin.Sort out the smoking monster first, get on top of it and then deal with the weight.Hey Ho healthy fatties! : ) x

Sian, I've put a few pounds on over the last few weeks.
But even though I weigh more, I look better. To counteract the damage to smoking you have to put on 5 stone. Also facially you seem to change when you quit, I've plumped out, lost a lot of fine lines and look younger. But I'm healthier.
Same with me too, I have started to Jog five time a week for 40 minutes, theat is keeping it down. I take my oldest son with me (14) and it has given us something in common also!
That is very distressing, especially if you are not eating any more, stay strong, it does stop after a few months!!!
Sian - Your doing really well with your quit and you sound solid and confident about maintaining it. Well done. I don't know if this is happening or not, but I thought I would mention it just in case it is:
I understand that you are worried about the weight side of things. However don't let the smoking habit/demons get hold of your concern about weight and turn it into something to torture you with.
