I will be nine months quit on Tuesday the 6th November.
It has flown by, although the first few months seemed to drag. I am about to go shopping for a pair of jeans as I cannot get in my jeans anymore due to my expanding waistline. One of the unfortunate side effects of quitting (for me anyway)I now feel I have got this quit wrapped up, however I now have another battle on my hands to try and shift this extra weight.
Thanks to everyone who has supported me and helped me get to this milestone. 3/4 of a year done!

Cheers Fi, I am the same, as soon as I get in from work, I change into PJ's just to feel comfy. Everyone at work all say,... you look fine! You haven't put that much on!... and my kids just wont even discuss it, they just say please dont worry about it mum, you have done great. So I will tackle it, really I will but the main thing is I have quit smoking! The people who love you, love you whatever size you are dont they
Simply the best and simplest diet ever....and great support from the forum also the book is really funny and informative. I have lost over a stone since August and it has been easy and enjoyable. The forum is what made me seek out this one for smoking.
Thanks very much BB Will definitely try it. Love the name pig to twig hahaha!

Well I just have to say that I have seen your picture and unless it was taken 20 years ago you look pretty good to me girl.
9 months, wow how good does that feel...well done
And I'm sure everyone would say thanks for your never ending support to everyone on the forum
Well done Haze! You're such a great support to everyone on here, and you've done a GREAT thing getting to 9 months. It's plain sailing to the penthouse now
Well done Haze - I agree with the kids - it's not the priority just now you have done fantastic - I can only hope I get as far in my quit.
Getting rid of a few pounds is a walk in the park surely after coming this far in your quit ? I know carrying a few pounds is probably easier for men and so it's easy for me to say that..I just need to loosen me belt a bit

Thanks Helen, I hope it will be plain sailing, I am proud of myself though. You know what I am proud of, infact it makes me want to weep, its when I can see how pleased my kids are. They must have hated me smoking more than I realised.
Haze you lovely adorable champion of us all. If there is a little bit more of you than there used to be then I say Hooooraaahhhh... ^^^^^^^^^What Dippy said You've been such a support and an inspiration, Haze and I thank you.xxx
Don't worry about the weight - more of you to love. You should not have mentioned the jamas, I want to wear mine all day long Instead I wear joggers round the house.
I love my joggers, but I am thinking I should be wearing something that makes me aware all the time of just how uncomfy my jeans are so I stop eating. I've beat you to the bigger jeans, Haze - got mine 2 weeks ago, then found I already had two pairs in that size anyway, but bootcut :mad I am still finding stuff from our move last year.) so out came the over locker to turn them into straight legs.
What with getting through Xmas etc, the next 3 months will fly by, and then you will be in the penthouse!!!
Thanks Becky, gonna sort my wardrobe out today, will have to put all my(too tight stuff) in the back bedroom wardrobe so that I dont see them everyday and want to wear them. I didnt buy jeans I bought 2 pairs of chinos instead, so I can wear them for work.
Haze, Go Girl! Well done on 9 months and don't you be worrying about a few extra pounds. You have done the hardest thing you'll probably ever do, whilst providing giving immense support, motivation and inspiration to others. If you can do this, you can do anything! Loosing those few pounds will be easy peasy!

Congrats to you Haze. I love the month November as it's my birthday month. Also it's bonfire and it tends to be a very chilly month. A welcome to winter one with little daylight hours.

Thanks Rogue, I know what you mean about November, I used to go to Benidorm every November for my last peice of sunshine, and I would love coming home to the crisp mornings and the feel in the air that Winter was on the way.
hey there haze and everybody else for that matter dont worry about a few extra pounds or kilos we have quit smoking and during my quit i have had a few gorges on chocolate but i just say to myself hmmm this or a cig gimme a bit of choc over a cig any day and i dont care about extra weight i will deal with that in due course but not going to stress over a bit of extra i seemed to have replaced some cigs with sweet food early on but hey if it gets me over the hurdle then i think its worth it and ive found as the quit goes on its needed less and less now theres almost no food binges at all and quitting smoking is probrably the hardest thing we have done and one huge accomplishment
long story short yeah ive also put some extra folds around my belly but i dont give a sh*t about it as guess what ive actually quit smoking
cheers all
Ten months, two weeks, three days, 19 hours, 19 minutes and 42 seconds. 19368 cigarettes not smoked, saving $11,039.93. Life saved: 9 weeks, 4 days, 6 hours, 0 minutes.
You are such an inspiration on this forum and you probably don't even realise how much
Let me try and tell you. Through my quit smoking journey, which has had a few twists and turns, ups and downs, etc you have always been just ahead, sometimes in sight, sometimes not. I have had my head down plodding along most of the time but when I look up I just get a glimpse of you which makes me more determined to carry on.
You are still carrying me along with you because I can't wait to join you in the penthouse. What a party we shall have:eek:

Thanks so much Mags! What a party we shall have indeed.I can't wait to get to the penthouse, I will save you the seat right next to me.xxxxx
Whoosh.... And there goes Haze in a Blaze.... Of Glory!
Well Done Chick, 9 month anniversary is something to celebrate - think of it like this, a women gives life to a baby after carrying it for 9 months, you however, have given back life to yourself! Massive achievement, I can only hope I remain quit for that long.
Lol! Re: waistline, now that I am totally on the same timeline as you!😉 and with it being the start of winter, my fleece throw and Sky TV is a real challenge to avoid right now and the 2 together....!!!
But with sooo many channels to chose from, I must admit my fingers do get exercised quite a bit, plus I do have my joggers on too, so not gonna give myself such a hard time about it!!!😉
Congratulations once again and I wish you longjeverty with your quit.
