An absolute belter of a cold.

Well I suppose it had to happen, Day 39 and up till now, had no physical problems at all, but I've just been struck down with the absolute worst cold I can remember for years. Might be something to do with going back to work for first time in over two years as well.

Again I dont feel any physical compulsion to smoke, but I do feel miserable, and that was always a solid gold cue to reach for the fags and lighter.

Consoling myself with eminently logical thought (which I have turned my back on for over 35 years) that, 'oh yeah - exactly how is inhaling toxic, poisonous fumes deep into your lungs, and then by the way only exhaling about 10% of them, actually going to stop you feeling miserable?'

Keep it going people, we are gonna do this shit!

What a bloomin summer!

Its July and my heating is on and people have colds.

Poor Esso. On the plus side......think of all that muck you are sneezing, coughing and spluttering out of yourself. You'll feel great when you're better, which I hope is soon.

Congrats on getting back to work.

Poor Esso - poorly with a bad cold when you've just started a new job - that's really not fair. :( As Dippy says though, it's a great way to accelerate getting all that crap out. :D

I feel your pain Esso!

Truth is if you were still smoking you'd probably be feeling even worse, as the fags don't exactly help with congestion!

Hope you get better soon. x

Definitely feel a lot better today. When I smoked, colds used to drag on for ages, hope this is a sign of the times and they wont last so long now.

Cheers for the good wishes folks, and lets crack on with day 40!

*I know it is day 40, I've got spreadsheets and everything*
