Morning!!

Week 1 was hell on earth but made it- with loads of support from friends and people on the forum :) I hope this week is going to be easier than last week- and that when things go wrong I don't straight away see RED and feel the anger rush! Going from that to feeling really down and teary!!

Fingers crossed this week will be better, still feeling good. Good luck to everyone as well xx

Good morning I too am just starting my second week. And yeah here's to it getting a little easier. It can't be any harder. Well done in getting past the first 7 days.

Lauz - can't remember, are you doing cold turkey? If so then you're now officially nicotene free (congratulations!!) and hopefully things will start to smooth out a bit.

On the other hand, this is the part where you and your subconscious have to begin to come to terms with being smoke free. It's very much an individual thing - much tougher for some than for others - you might well sail through! On the other hand, when you encounter triggers the effects of the psychological prompts can feel pretty damn physical, so be prepared to do battle with your brain. Reaffirm your reasons, keep yourself occupied, keep reading and posting. It can be tough, but it can be done.

Have a great week 2!

day 8

Hi everyone

Just starting my second week, have realised when I have tried to give up before I have never really looked at it as forever. This time am keeping in my mind that I never want to put that disgusting smelling, deadly stick in my mouth again and it is helping with how I am feeling. Well done for everyone getting through the first week, it must be the worst and I'm thinking give in to the cravings and Iv'e have got to go through that again. Well done everyone lets all help each other.

I'm just at the end of week 2, being day 14, and agree....the thought of having to do those two weeks again keeps me on the straight and narrow fairly well. The cravings have really dropped down the last few days. Days 7,8,9and 10 were really tough in the evenings, mainly because OH smokes and i felt deprived. Had some good feedback about that little number on here, and sorted my attitude out!

Even tested it by having half a bottle of red wine (i'm hopeless with wine at the best of times!) last night, and was able to enjoy it without rampaging around the house looking for OH cigs.

Hi Lauz, we made it to week 2... I remember posting last week looking at week 2 thinking it was so out of reach but here we are (I now feel like that about week 3 lol).

Day 8 has not been my greatest, no sure why just keep thinking I want to smoke. Really strange as no real triggers that should set me off. Oh well keep plodding on.

Great to see everyone on here doing so well and lots and lots of positivity about :) I think that really is the key, keep smiling and stay positive.

Hey, yeah I have gone cold turkey- so horay!! I am feeling pretty good at the moment and actually kind of excited...not really sure why!! Cravings are still pretty bad but yesterday was ok....and actually I am kinda just getting on with it!! And it feels good. My skin looks nicer than it normally does. my mouth is full of sores tho! lol. Ah well, it will be worth it! Going surfing in Wales with my brother this weekend. It will be like a 5 hour drive for me- that would normally be about 10 smokes at least.....

I feel so happy reading the forum and seeing all of the support. I really feel like this could be the time that I don't go back. Especially after reading somewhere about "just one cheeky one" can often send u back to the start- somewhere I never want to go EVER AGAIN!!

hey Bec, this is awesome :) Week 2- Im glad u can look back and think YEAH!! I do feel like it is week 3 as well- crazy eh? My body is still adjusting- it is scary how much it has effected my physical health (let alone my mental wellbeing at times, lol). but actually scary to think how much control it had over me...really genuinely frightening.

Sorry to hear day 8 wasn't great- triggers or no triggers, your body is still adjusting. And every time you get through a craving it strengthens that response- which will help you next time!Keep on smiling (a less smokey smile as well, yay!)
