Hi Everybody

I will quit smoking on Monday 10th. I'm kind of excited and confident (but is that because I still have a little bit if nicotine in the brain?!!). I don't think I can prepare anymore, but this is what I'm a scared of, that out of the blue I will trip up, that I will succumb to a craving and be back at square one.

I know it's only ME that can allow this to happen, so why can't I trust myself?

I will NOT allow it!!!

And surely its better to try than continue to think about "giving up" everyday and doing nothing.

Anyway I will stick to the mantra.."One Day At A Time"

You can do it Elizabeth! Hold on to that feeling of being excited and confident - they are not misplaced. I was a very heavy smoker, and it amazed me how quitting was so much easier than I had feared. I haven't enjoyed some of the effects of Champix, but it has been well worth it to help me get to this point.

Just keep reading to keep yourself as well informed as possible, and post on here whenever you feel that you need some support or encouragement. In no time at all, you will be one of the "old hands" helping the new quitters, and telling them that it's not that bad!

Have a good week end, but don't treasure those last few ciggies too much. You will soon see for yourself that there is nothing that great about them. Good luck.

hi elizabeth and good luck, im on day 15 of champix and on my 1st day smoke free,i tried to push myself before day 14 and failed because i knew i wasnt quite ready yet ,but here i am nearly through my first day and its not half as bad as i dreaded,good luck for monday you can do it ,you will not believe the feeling of every hour you have acheived ,you dont have to dread,celebrate,this will be the hardest and best thing you will ever do .
